Neutron activation analysis traces copper artifacts to geographical point of origin [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Impurities remaining in the metallic copper are identified and quantified by spectrographic and neutron activation analysis. Determination of the type of ore used for the copper artifact places the geographic point of origin of the ...

Large Area, Cost‐Effective, and Ultra‐Fast Fabrication of Mini‐Coils Toward Noninvasive Magnetic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simple, cleanroom‐free method produces flexible mini‐coils using automated blade cutting. The process is fast, low‐cost, and supports diverse materials. The coils show strong durability and performance under repeated bending. Demonstrated use in resistor‐inductor filters and magnetic nanoparticle control proves their adaptability.

Toward Maximum Utilization of Heavy Rare Earths in Sintered Nd–Fe–B Magnets by Grain Boundary Diffusion Source and Application Area Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, the grain boundary diffusion process is optimized to maximize heavy rare earth utilization by strategic magnetic hardening of areas in the magnet such as corners or edges that are highly susceptible to demagnetization, as demonstrated by finite element magnetostatics simulation on an internal permanent magnet, synchronous traction motor ...

Effect of Ni/Sn ratio on microstructure and properties of Cu-Ni-Sn-P alloy

open access: yesScientific Reports
Cu-1.33Ni-1.35Sn-0.08P(Ni/Sn = 1/1), Cu-0.87Ni-1.82Sn-0.08P (Ni/Sn = 1/2) and Cu-1.78Ni-0.86Sn-0.08P (Ni/Sn = 2/1) alloys were prepared to explore the effect of different Ni/Sn ratios on the microstructure and properties of the alloys. The results showed

The Control of Stem Blight and the Spread of Potato Late Blight by Copper Seed Treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Late blight still is an unsolved problem in organic potato farming. Up to now the most effective way to control this disease is the use of copper fungicides. Transferring results from regular farming, seed treatments with copper fungicides shall postpone

Design of Multiphase Compositionally Complex Alloys for Enhanced Hardness at Elevated Temperatures and Machinability: Comparative Study with Inconel 718

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study compares the mechanical properties of Inconel 718 with two newly developed compositionally complex alloys (CCAs). Inco‐like‐H alloy demonstrates significantly improved wear resistance, surface finish, and hardness, notably at high temperatures. This CCA requires no heat treatment and is well suited for additive manufacturing. Its performance
