Copper Metallurgy in the Jordan Valley from the Third to the First Millennia BC: Chemical, Metallographic and Lead Isotope Analyses of Artefacts from Pella

open access: yes, 2003
This paper investigates Bronze and Iron Age metallurgy in the Levant while recognizing that metal artefacts were employed within a world in which social, economic and technological factors were closely intertwined.

From Fluoride Removal to Interfacial Reactivity Enhancement: Functionalized La3+‐Crosslinked B/CuO Energetic Microspheres

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fluoride adsorption‐functionalization strategy directly couples fluoride wastewater remediation with combustion performance enhancement of B/CuO energetic microspheres. Fluoride captured from wastewater is retained within the microspheres without adsorbent regeneration or disposal, simultaneously achieving pollutant removal and enhanced energetic ...

The dissolution of gold colloids in aqueous thiosulfate solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The kinetics of the dissolution of gold and silver colloids in ammoniacal thiosulfate solutions has been studied using oxygen, copper(II) or oxygenated copper(II) as oxidants at pH 9 - 11 and temperature 22oC to 48oC.

Surface Neuronal‐Like Structuring of High‐Strength CFRP for Enhanced Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates the microstructural evolution at the material interface of Ni‐plated plain‐weave carbon fiber fabric following vacuum heat treatment at 500°C–900°C under different current densities, as well as the mechanism underlying the synergistic enhancement of electromagnetic shielding and ductility.

A New Ordered Transformation‐Induced Plasticity Enables Exceptional Strength and Ductility in a B2 Medium‐Entropy Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel B2‐ordered Ti‐Zr‐V‐Al medium‐entropy intermetallic is developed through controlled metastability engineering, which activates an ordered TRIP effect via a new B2→D019‐α2 transformation with a distinctive {0001}α2//{110}B2, <11‐20>α2//<100>B2 orientation relationship. This alloy achieves an elongation of ∼7%, a strength of ∼1.1 GPa, and superior

A Closed‐Loop Direct Recycling Process for Prussian White From Scrap and End‐of‐Life Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A closed‐loop direct recycling route for Prussian White sodium‐ion battery cathodes is demonstrated. Ice‐stripped scrap and end‐of‐life electrodes are regenerated via low‐temperature aqueous resodiation (80°C), restoring sodium content, Fe2+ redox chemistry, and structural integrity.

Separating Hydrogen Evolution From Electroplating in Zn Metal Batteries Using Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Operando SECM decouples hydrogen evolution from other degradation pathways in Zn metal batteries by quantifying its contribution during Zn electrodeposition. Although HER is shown to account for only a minor fraction of the irreversible charge loss, it remains a key indicator of interfacial evolution and by‐product formation governing cycling ...
