X-ray-induced mutation of Bacillus sp. MR10 for manno-oligosaccharides production from copra meal

Preparative Biochemistry & Biotechnology, 2016
The present study demonstrates the effectiveness of X-ray radiation in strain improvement for defective lipase production by Bacillus sp. MR10 for further application in the fermentative production of manno-oligosaccharides (MOS) from agricultural by-product, defatted copra meal (DCM).

Uses of Copra Waste and Wheat Bran for Cellulase Production by Trichoderma reesei in Solid State Fermentation

Proceedings of the 2018 8th International Conference on Bioscience, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics, 2018
The potential use of copra waste from coconut pressing process for cellulase production by solid-state fermentation (SSF) was studied in this research. Trichoderma reesei TISTR3080 was cultivated at 30°C for 7 days on the copra waste (CW) with and without supplementary of wheat bran (WB) as a nitrogen source. The results showed that adding WB increased

Utilization of copra waste for the solid state fermentatative production of inulinase in batch and packed bed reactors

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2014
In this study, screening and optimization of nutrients for inulinase production using copra waste has been studied. Plackett-Burman Design (PBD) was employed to screen the significant nutrients for inulinase production. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to evaluate the effects of nutrient components in the medium.

Methyl ketone production from copra oil by Penicillium roqueforti spores

Food Chemistry, 1998
Abstract Bioconversion of copra oil by two strains of Penicillium roqueforti spores was studied in the presence or absence of exogenous lipase. Without exogenous lipase action, methyl ketone productivities were weak: 33 ± 1.9 to 61 ± 2.4  μ mol g −1 of oil, respectively, for strains 1 and 2.

Determination of ethylene oxide in fumigated copra products

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1957
SummaryA method is presented for the determining of trace amounts of ethylene oxide in raw copra, copra meal, and coconut oil. The lower limit of detection is 0.3 p.p.m. with an average deviation of 0.2 p.p.m. in the range 0 to 5 p.p.m. The recoveries of added known quantities of ethylene oxide were greater than 90% in nearly all cases.Fumigated raw ...

A novel MCDM approach to selecting a biodegradable dynamic plastic product: a probabilistic hesitant fuzzy set-based COPRAS method

Journal of Environmental Management, 2023
The development of biodegradable polymers for both industrial and commercial uses is crucial nowadays due to the detrimental environmental effects of synthetic plastics. For a variety of uses, researchers have created numerous starch-based composites. The current study examines bioplastics made from maize and rice starch for packaging purposes. Several
