Effects on egg production of including high residual lipid copra meal in laying hen diets

open access: closedBritish Poultry Science, 1989
Abstract 1. The effects on egg production of including copra meals of 220.9 (Copra‐1) and 205.0 (Copra‐2) g residual lipids/kg, in laying hen diets at up to 400 g/kg, were examined in two feeding trials. In a separate experiment, the dry matter retention and ME of a 400 g Copra‐2/kg diet were determined between 6 to 9, 9 to 12 and 12 to 15 d of feeding.

Enhanced mannanase production by submerged culture of Aspergillus niger NCH-189 using defatted copra based media

open access: closedProcess Biochemistry, 2003
Abstract Copra and other mannans including locust bean gum, guar gum, konjac flour, copra and defatted copra were used to produce extracellular mannanase by shaken flask cultures of Aspergillus niger NCH-189 in this study. The best carbon source for mannanase production was defatted copra, which provided more nitrogen source and mannan content. The

Determination of ethylene oxide in fumigated copra products

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1957
SummaryA method is presented for the determining of trace amounts of ethylene oxide in raw copra, copra meal, and coconut oil. The lower limit of detection is 0.3 p.p.m. with an average deviation of 0.2 p.p.m. in the range 0 to 5 p.p.m. The recoveries of added known quantities of ethylene oxide were greater than 90% in nearly all cases.Fumigated raw ...

An integrated solution with SWARA&COPRAS methods in renewable energy production: City selection for biogas facility

open access: closedRenewable Energy, 2019
Abstract In today's world, where the demand for energy has increased and the supply/demand balance for energy has become increasingly difficult, the role of renewable energy is quite important. One of the most important sources of renewable energy in the world is the biogas, which offers great contributions to prevent environmental pollution and ...

X-ray-induced mutation of Bacillus sp. MR10 for manno-oligosaccharides production from copra meal

open access: closedPreparative Biochemistry & Biotechnology, 2016
The present study demonstrates the effectiveness of X-ray radiation in strain improvement for defective lipase production by Bacillus sp. MR10 for further application in the fermentative production of manno-oligosaccharides (MOS) from agricultural by-product, defatted copra meal (DCM).

A novel MCDM approach to selecting a biodegradable dynamic plastic product: a probabilistic hesitant fuzzy set-based COPRAS method

Journal of Environmental Management, 2023
The development of biodegradable polymers for both industrial and commercial uses is crucial nowadays due to the detrimental environmental effects of synthetic plastics. For a variety of uses, researchers have created numerous starch-based composites. The current study examines bioplastics made from maize and rice starch for packaging purposes. Several

Uses of Copra Waste and Wheat Bran for Cellulase Production by Trichoderma reesei in Solid State Fermentation

Proceedings of the 2018 8th International Conference on Bioscience, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics, 2018
The potential use of copra waste from coconut pressing process for cellulase production by solid-state fermentation (SSF) was studied in this research. Trichoderma reesei TISTR3080 was cultivated at 30°C for 7 days on the copra waste (CW) with and without supplementary of wheat bran (WB) as a nitrogen source. The results showed that adding WB increased

Determinants of Value Added in Copra Production in Central Buton District of Southeast Sulawesi

2023
Coconut palm has significant position in the life of Indonesian people as it provides various products and by-products useful in their daily life. The main product is derived from coconut meat which can be produced into copra. The study aimed to assess value addition in copra production and to determine the factors that affect value addition in copra ...

An assessment of aflatoxin transfer from copra to products during the manufacture of crude coconut oil

1995
