Parameters estimation with coprime samplers and arrays

open access: yes

Direction-of-Arrival Estimation for Coprime Array via Virtual Array Interpolation

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2018
Coprime arrays can achieve an increased number of degrees of freedom by deriving the equivalent signals of a virtual array. However, most existing methods fail to utilize all information received by the coprime array due to the non-uniformity of the derived virtual array, resulting in an inevitable estimation performance loss. To address this issue, we

Unitary Esprit for Coprime Arrays

ICASSP 2023 - 2023 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2023
Coprime arrays are normally used to identify more sources than sensors, using the coarray domain. They can also be used directly in element-space and still have benefits of better accuracy and resolution compared to ULAs. An invariance is buried in each of the two sparse ULAs which constitute a coprime array. In this paper, ESPRIT is applied separately

DOA estimation in the autocorrelation domain for coprime array

Digital Signal Processing, 2021
Abstract In this paper a new algorithm for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation in coprime arrays based on the autocorrelation domain (AD) method is proposed. The spatial autocorrelation sequence of the virtual uniform linear array (ULA) associated with the coprime array is built by averaging the diagonals of the spatially smoothed covariance matrix.

Generalized Thinned Coprime Array for DOA Estimation

ICASSP 2021 - 2021 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2021
Owing to the large degrees of freedom and reduced mutual coupling by producing difference coarrays, nonuniform linear arrays have aroused great interest in direction of arrival (DOA) estimation. Previous works have presented some new sparse arrays, such as the thinned coprime array.

Multiplicity of coprime pairs for extension of coprime sensor arrays

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2019
This research finds the optimum period of a basic coprime sensor array (CSA) needed to reduce the PSL height to -13 dB for both minimum and product processing methods. Our design does not have the constraint that the subarray lengths be one integer apart unlike in [Adhikari et al., 2014].

Analysis of Coprime Arrays on Moving Platform

ICASSP 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2019
Moving platforms enable sparse arrays to assume higher degrees of freedom and lead to increased number of lags. In essence, array motion can fill the holes in the spatial auto-correlation lags associated with a fixed platform and, therefore, increase the number of sources detectable by the same physical array. In this paper, we consider coprime arrays,

Sparse sensing with coprime arrays

2010 Conference Record of the Forty Fourth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2010
Coprime sampling has, in the past, been used for signal processing applications such as range and doppler improvement in radar, and for identifying sinusoids in noise. This paper considers a coprime pair of samplers in space or time from the point of view of the difference coarray, which is key to the increased freedom available for processing with ...

Gaussian signal detection by coprime sensor arrays

2015 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2015
Coprime sensor arrays (CSAs) achieve the resolution of a fully populated uniform linear array (ULA) with the same aperture using fewer sensors. The conventional CSA product beamformer suffers from a smaller array gain due to the reduced number of sensors.
