DETECTION OF EXCRETORY/SECRETORY COPROANTIGENS IN EXPERIMENTAL HOOKWORM INFECTION

The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 2005
This report describes the detection of hookworm excretory/secretory (ES) antigens in soluble hamster fecal extracts by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). A rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody against Ancylostoma ceylanicum ES was used to capture hookworm coproantigens that were then detected using pooled, high-titer, infected hamster serum.

Fasciola hepatica:Detection of Antigenemia and Coproantigens in Experimentally Infected Rats

Experimental Parasitology, 1997
The presence of eggs in stool is the standardmethod for a fascioliasis diagnosis. However, itlacks sensitivity since parasite eggs do not ap-pear during acute fascioliasis and are intermit-tently shed during a chronic disease. As anti-body titers persist after curing, serological testsare also of limited diagnostic value (Garci´a-Rodri´guezet al. 1985;

Identification of Low-Molecular-Mass Coproantigens of Cryptosporidlum parvum

Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1994
Cryptosporidium parvum coproantigens (CCAg) of 18 and 20 kDa were identified in the stool eluates of calves and humans infected with Cryptosporidium species. Monospecific antibodies raised against the 20-kDa antigen recognized both 18- and 20-kDa CCAg in all positive but no negative control samples. These antibodies reacted with C.

Echinococcusinfections in Chinese dogs: a comparison of coproantigen kits

Journal of Helminthology, 2013
AbstractCoproantigen test kits forEchinococcusspp. worms in dogs, designed for commercial use, were obtained from three different Chinese producers, and were compared with a laboratory kit using reagents from New Zealand. None of the three producers would provide details of their test validation. From a known set of dog faeces obtained at necropsy from

Coproantigens: Early detection and suitability of an immunodiagnostic method for echinococcosis in dogs

Veterinary Parasitology, 1998
In the present study immunodiagnostic tests for Echinococcus granulosus-specific coproantigens have been evaluated. The techniques are based on polyclonal antisera collected from dogs experimentally infected with E. granulosus protoscoleces. ELISA, Countercurrent immunoelectrophoresis (CCIEP) and Immunodot were evaluated for their application in ...

[Diagnostic of intestinal parasitosis by coproantigen detection].

Enfermedades infecciosas y microbiologia clinica, 2010
Intestinal parasites are highly prevalent in tropical areas and developing countries, but are also common in industrialised countries as well. Traditionally, their diagnosis has been made by microscopic examinations of the faeces of the patient. These have been shown to have poor sensitivity, require serial samples, are very time-consuming and require ...

Isolation of an immunodiagnostic Taenia solium coproantigen.

Tropical medicine and parasitology : official organ of Deutsche Tropenmedizinische Gesellschaft and of Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), 1993
Antigens of Taenia solium can be demonstrated by ELISA technique in stool samples of tapeworm carriers. In order to isolate these immunodiagnostic components from stool, fecal samples of known T. solium carriers were subject to chromatographic purification procedures: immunoaffinity chromatography and a subsequent two-step high performance liquid ...

Time-course analysis of coproantigens in rats infected and challenged with Fasciola hepatica

Parasitology Research, 2002
The influence of a challenge infection during an acute or chronic primary infection on Fasciola hepatica-coproantigen kinetics was established in rats. Egg-output and IgG humoral responses were also established. Two primary-infected groups were reinfected at different periods, one 4 weeks after primary infection (w.p.i.) (acute phase) and the other 11 ...

The diagnostic efficacy of Fasciola gigantica coproantigen in naturally infected cattle and buffaloes

Journal of the Egyptian Society of Parasitology, 2008
Monoclonal antibody sandwich ELISA was used detect F. gigantica coproantigen in 33 selected animals according to the faecal history to evaluate sensitivity and specificity by using three different rabbit hyper-immune sera; Copro HIS, Egg HIS and ES HIS. The results showed that Copro HIS & ES HIS detected F. gigantica coproantigen in faecal of naturally

A modified coproantigen test used for surveillance of Echinococcus spp. in Tibetan dogs

Veterinary Parasitology, 2007
Recently an immunological test for Echinococcus spp. antigens in dog faeces has been developed. The antigens appear to be carbohydrates, which survive proteolytic digestion and environmental degradation. For ELISA a capture antibody is used to capture the antigens, followed by a detection antibody.
