Beyond the Black Box: Reproductive Strategies of the Black Soldier Fly as a Model for Bridging Evolutionary Biology and Applied Entomology

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 19, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The black soldier fly (BSF; Hermetia illucens) is rapidly emerging as a model for evolutionary biology and insect biotechnology. Although larval biology has been extensively characterised, the reproductive biology of adults remains comparatively understudied.

Ossification of the cranium of Inpaichthys kerri (Characiformes: Acestrorhamphidae) with discussion of paedomorphic traits in the genus

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 248, Issue 5, Page 806-829, May 2026.
In this study, we present a detailed description of the cranial development of Inpaichthys kerri (Characiformes: Acestrorhamphidae), highlighting important topics such as pedomorphic characters and their relationship with ontogeny and phylogeny, as well as ossification sequences unique to the species. Abstract The study of development provides valuable

When Net‐Zero Goals Meet Zero‐Sum Realities: New Insights on the CSR‐Firm Value Effect and the Role of New Product Development Versus Marketing

open access: yesJournal of Product Innovation Management, Volume 43, Issue 3, Page 516-538, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Academic Summary Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a key strategy to achieving (e.g., environmental) sustainability. While many studies report a positive effect of CSR on firm value, growing evidence suggests practice often fails to unlock such effect.

Multiple Changepoint Detection for Non‐Gaussian Time Series

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, Volume 47, Issue 3, Page 465-484, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This article combines methods from existing techniques to identify multiple changepoints in non‐Gaussian autocorrelated time series. A transformation is used to convert a Gaussian series into a non‐Gaussian series, enabling penalized likelihood methods to handle non‐Gaussian scenarios.

Persisting Disadvantages: A Study of the Dynamics of Cumulative Deprivation

open access: yesReview of Income and Wealth, Volume 72, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Identifying populations at risk of deprivation is crucial for effective policy design. Yet, much existing research focuses on single aspects, such as income or material deprivation, and often abstracts from deprivation dynamics. This study addresses this gap by analyzing the dynamics and socio‐economic gradient of cumulative deprivation using ...
