It seems natural to define the relation of "being a copy of" by means of the notion of similarity. While similarity is essential in the characterisation of the copying relation, a simple similarity account of such a relation does not seem to work. Counterexamples are easy to find.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.
