Attached Segment has Higher CD34 Cells and CFU-GM than the Main Bag after Thawing

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 2015
A contiguous segment attached to the cord blood unit (CBU) is required for verifying HLA types, cell viability, and, possibly, potency before transplantation since such a segment is considered to be representative of the CBU.

Evolution of Ocular Organ‐On‐Chip Systems for Disease Modelling and Drug Testing: Where are We Now?

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The rise in ophthalmic diseases due to aging, screen use, and environmental factors has driven demand for better ocular models. Traditional systems fall short, encouraging the development of organ‐on‐chip devices. These microfluidic platforms replicate eye tissue architecture, enable drug screening, and simulate ocular diseases.

Human Bone‐Derived Endothelial Cells Mediate Bone Regeneration via Distinct Expression of KIT Ligand

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bone‐specific endothelial cells (b‐ECs) uniquely express KITLG, which recruits c‐Kit+/CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors (HPCs) to the osteovascular niche, initiating a cascade that culminates in the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow‐derived mesenchymal stem cells (bm‐MSCs) and subsequent ossification.

NSUN2 relies on ALYREF to regulate Nrf2-mediated oxidative stress and alleviate Dox-induced liver injury

open access: yesBiology Direct
Background Doxorubicin (Dox) is associated with various liver injuries, limiting its clinical utility. This study investigates whether NSUN2 participates in Dox-induced liver injury and the associated molecular mechanism.

Piezoelectric Biomaterials for Bone Regeneration: Roadmap from Dipole to Osteogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Piezoelectric biomaterials convert mechanical forces into electrical signals, offering novel strategies to restore and modulate bone microenvironments for tissue engineering. This review examines molecular dipole origins, spatial arrangements, and pseudo‐piezoelectric mechanisms and highlights dipole‐engineering techniques for osteogenesis regulation ...
