Development of chalcones structure‐related to avobenzone: Photoprotection, photostability, and safety evaluation

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Scaffold hopping strategy used to develop chalcones structure‐related to the avobenzone tautomer. Positive aspects of 2‐hydroxychalcones are highlighted. Abstract Chalcones are α,β‐unsaturated ketones with extended π‐conjugation, making them promising scaffolds for the development of organic UV filters.

Plant endemism of the Balkan high‐mountain fens: a community‐level synthesis and their climate change perspective

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Balkan high‐mountain fens harbour unique endemic plant communities, with a west‐to‐east compositional gradient and local richness primarily shaped by palaeoclimate. As these fens have already experienced drier, warmer summers than at present, they may withstand climate change if actively and effectively protected. Abstract The phenomenon of Balkan high‐

De cordeiro sacrificial a vingador divino

open access: yesLetras & Letras

Isolation and Phylogenetic Analysis of Parapoxvirus orf From Outbreaks in Sheep in the Brazilian Midwest

open access: yesZoonoses and Public Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This study aimed to isolate Parapoxvirus orf and characterize its genetic diversity through phylogenetic analysis in small ruminants from the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. Methods A total of 103 scab samples were collected from sheep affected by nine contagious ecthyma outbreaks across three different mesoregions of Mato Grosso ...

Maternal protein restriction programs the ageing kidney: Proteomic signatures of early‐life origin renal and metabolic dysfunction

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Maternal protein restriction (MPR) induced persistent renal histopathological alterations accompanied by elevated serum creatinine levels. Nephron‐segment proteomic analysis revealed region‐specific molecular dysregulation affecting Bowman's capsule (PARK7, oxidative stress sensor; MSN, cytoskeletal organization), the proximal ...

Preliminary Development and Evaluation of a Severity Classification Tool Informed by Objective Indicators of Challenging Behavior

open access: yesBehavioral Interventions, Volume 41, Issue 4, November 2026.
ABSTRACT In behavior analysis, the term severe is commonly used to describe challenging behavior, but the criteria used to distinguish severe from non‐severe challenging behavior are not always clearly defined or consistently applied. The current manuscript demonstrates preliminary steps in the development and evaluation of a severity classification ...

A First Indication That Rainforest Vine Proliferation Does Not Enhance Predator–Prey Interactions on the Forest Floor

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 10, Page 1229-1241, October 2026.
Vine proliferation is a widespread consequence of tropical forest disturbance, yet its effects on ground‐level predator–prey interactions remain poorly understood. Using plasticine caterpillars deployed on the rainforest floor in north Queensland, Australia, we show that overall predation rates were unaffected by vine‐to‐tree ratio. Instead, fine‐scale
