Aedes albopictus and Dengue Transmission Risk in France Over the 21st Century

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
We assessed the impacts of climate change on the range expansion of Ae. albopictus and the risk of dengue transmission in France by 2085. Most of the French territory will be suitable to host this vector, while more than half of the territory will be suitable for dengue transmission.

CORDEX Task Force report on proposed actions, steps and timelines in preparation for CORDEX-CMIP7

open access: yes
This outcome from the CORDEX Task Force on preparation for CORDEX-CMIP7 examines the preparation and transition strategy for CORDEX-CMIP7, the next generation of coordinated regional climate downscaling experiments that will support the IPCC's Seventh Assessment Report (AR7) and beyond.

Cleaning Air Pollution Over Central Europe Enhances Extreme Precipitation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 14, 28 July 2026.
Abstract Extreme precipitation is becoming increasingly severe, with growing societal and environmental impacts. This study investigates how anthropogenic aerosol emissions have influenced extreme precipitation over Central Europe. Using the Weather Research and Forecasting Model, we compare two 20‐year simulations with aerosol concentrations ...

Unlocking Urban Climate Change Analysis in Global Kilometer‐Scale Climate Simulations

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 13, 16 July 2026.
Abstract Coupled multi‐decadal global km‐scale simulations completed in recent years open new perspectives in the investigation and understanding of urban climate change. This study introduces a generic method for extracting urban areas and their rural references worldwide and validates it on hourly timescales with remote‐sensing observations of land ...

High-resolution machine-learning downscaled climate projections and extreme hazard assessment over monsoon-dominated Odisha, India

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk
This study develops a grid-wise eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) framework for bias correction and statistical downscaling of daily precipitation, maximum temperature (Tmax), and minimum temperature (Tmin) over Odisha using 30 years (1985–2014) of ...

Evaluation of CORDEX ERA5-forced NARCliM2.0 regional climate models over Australia using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model version 4.1.2 [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Model Development
Understanding regional climate model (RCM) capabilities to simulate current climate informs model development and climate change assessments. This is the first evaluation of the NARCliM2.0 ensemble of seven Weather Forecasting and Research RCMs driven by

Climate Change Threatens Micronutrient Density of European Winter Wheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 42, 28 July 2026.
Micronutrients are vital for human health. Wheat is a major staple crop and a significant source of minerals and B‐vitamins. The impact of climate change on their content remains largely unknown. We evaluated micronutrient levels in European winter wheat grown under historical and projected climate conditions. Our findings indicate that future climates

Spectral nudging impacts on precipitation downscaling in the Conformal Cubic Atmospheric Model, version CCAM-2504: insights from summer 2011 [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Model Development
This study evaluates the impacts of spectral nudging on rainfall when dynamically downscaling with the Conformal Cubic Atmospheric Model (CCAM). The study focuses on the extreme 2010–2011 La Niña, in conjunction with the Madden–Julian Oscillation (MJO ...
