Monolithic catalysts were prepared by washcoating Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 slurries and then impregnating platinum or rhenium onto cordierite substrates, and characterized by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma (ICP ...

The manuscript presents a quantitative approach for determining iron oxidation state in multicomponent silicate oxide systems through direct oxygen measurement by EPMA. The study provides experimentally validated data obtained under controlled equilibrium conditions. The methodology is intended to offer a broadly applicable framework for studying redox

Cordierite-spinel-quartz assemblages: A potential geobarometer [PDF]
The composition of (Mg-Zn-Fe+2)-aluminate-spinel coexisting with cordierite and quartz is potentially a sensitive geobarometer in rock types such as cordierite ‒ anthophyllite rocks which are not well suited to most other geobarometers.

ABSTRACT The absence of jadeite in regions where subduction of continental crust has been documented by other high‐pressure (HP) or ultrahigh‐pressure (UHP) minerals is striking. This study presents only the second discovery of jadeite in the crystalline rocks of the Erzgebirge, a region known for its occurrences of microdiamond, coesite and omphacite ...

Influence of Bi2O3 on sintering and crystallization of cordierite ceramics [PDF]
The influence of Bi2O3 on the process of cordierite ceramics preparation, 2MgO-2Al2O3-5SiO2 (MAS) was investigated. The following binary systems were used for the presented research: MgO/Bi2O3 (sintered at 820ºC and 1100ºC), Al2O3/Bi2O3 and SiO2/Bi2O3 ...

Effect of Peanut Shell Powder as a Pore‐Forming Additive in the Production of Ceramic Membranes
This study investigates the sustainable use of an agricultural by‐product, Peanut shell powder (PSP), to create pores in clay‐alumina membranes sintered at 1150°C. With 30 wt.% PSP, porosity reaches 49%, achieving high water flux (∼2300 L·h−1·m−2) and usable strength (17 MPa). Ideal for low‐cost membrane and effluent treatment.

Influence of prolonged sintering time on density and electrical properties of isothermally sintered cordierite-based ceramics [PDF]
Mechanical activation is a commonly used and relatively fast and inexpensive procedure for sample preparation before the sintering process. Cordierite, a stoichiometric mixture of three different oxides (2MgO⋅2Al2O3⋅5SiO2) is a very attractive, widely

STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CORDIERITES BASED ON COMMERCIAL VERMICULITES IN RELATION TO THE NATURAL AND SYNTHETIC CORDIERITES [PDF]
The preparation and characterization of cordierites based on the commercial vermiculites obtained from the powder mixtures containing talc, kaolinite and vermiculite in the composition close to the cordierite 2MgO∙2Al₂O₃∙5SiO₂ has been reported since 2009.

ABSTRACT The Quetico subprovince of the Superior Province is among the largest metasedimentary belts globally and provides evidence of tectonic processes at play during the final stages of Archean cratonization. Although previous studies have shown that deformation and metamorphism of the 2.7‐Ga turbiditic protolith resulted in regional subvertical ...
