Kinetics of cordierite crystallization from diphasic gels
Diphasic cordierite gels were prepared from colloidal silica, aluminum and magnesium nitrates and citric acid. The mechanism of xerogel decomposition was studied by infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA).

Abstract The Rudall Province (RP) is a Paleo‐Mesoproterozoic belt that records numerous overprinting tectono‐metamorphic events. Situated on the eastern edge of the West Australian Craton (WAC), the RP represents a key area for understanding the Proterozoic assembly and subsequent tectonic history of Western Australia.

Low-temperature cordierite ceramics with porous structure for thermal shock resistance products
This article shows the results of the study of low-temperature (1100−1150 °C) porous ceramics of cordierite composition. The technological manufacturing parameters, the features of the microstructural and phase composition of ceramics have been studied ...

Abstract In the Central Alps, the Adula unit exposes high‐ and ultra‐high‐pressure (HP‐UHP) metamorphic rocks, providing key insights into the subduction and exhumation dynamics of the former distal European margin. We investigate the San Bernardino Shear Zone (SBSZ), a top‐to‐the‐east extensional shear zone developed within orthogneiss and paragneiss ...

Deformation‐induced cordierite breakdown – an example from western Maine, USA
Preservation of partially completed metamorphic reactions in the form of partial pseudomorphs is very important as it provides direct insight onto the reaction mechanism and the phases involved in the reaction.

Metal-Ceramic Interfacial Reactions: The Copper-Cordierite and Titanium-Cordierite Systems.
Interfacial reactions between either copper or titanium and cordierite-based (2MgO.2Al2O3.5SiO2) ceramic substrates are probed using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).

Fabrication Of Porous Cordierite By Gelcasting Method [PDF]
Among various ceramics materials for filtration purpose, porous cordierite (2MgO.2Al₂O₃.5SiO₂) offers promising properties due to low coefficient thermal expansion, high resistance to thermal shock and high strength.
