Abstract The presence of sediment‐burrowing clubtail dragonflies (Gomphidae) may be directly related to riverine geomorphic properties. Their synchronous emergence behavior, marked by persistent exuviae, allows for the examination of emerging adult‐stage habitats.

Abstract Ecosystem engineers facilitate beneficiary species by ameliorating physical habitat. The stress‐gradient hypothesis (SGH) predicts the importance of facilitation in communities should increase with physical stress but has rarely been tested in freshwater.

Dragonfly assemblages in the upper parts of the River Tisza: a comparison of larval and exuvial data in three channel types [PDF]
We studied dragonfly assemblages in the Ukrainian section of the River Tisza, which still shows several natural (unregulated) properties. In 2010 and 2011 larvae and exuviae were collected in the vicinity of the villages Vilok (Вилок, Tiszaújlak), Nove ...

Predicting the distributions of under-recorded Odonata using species distribution models [PDF]
1. Absences in distributional data may result either from the true absence of a species or from a false absence due to lack of recording effort. I use general linear models (GLMs) and species distribution models (SDMs) to investigate this problem in ...

Biogeography of Endemic Dragonflies of the Ozark-Ouachita Interior Highlands [PDF]
A common pattern across many taxonomic groups is that relatively few species are widespread while the majority are restricted in their geographic ranges. Such species distributions are used to inform conservation status, which poses unique challenges for
