Cordycepin analog of (A2′p) 2 A: Evidence that it functions as a prodrug of cordycepin

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1983
The effect of the cordycepin trimer analog of (A2'p)2A on cell growth, cell viability and nucleic acid synthesis was assessed in human colon carcinoma cell line HT-29 in vitro. The cordycepin analog, (3'dA2'p)2(3)'dA reduced 24 hr cell growth by 50% at 10(-4)M and decreased cell viability by 98% under these conditions.

Cordycepin mitigates dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis through improving gut microbiota composition and modulating Th1/Th2 and Th17/Treg balance.

Biomedicine & pharmacotherapy = Biomedecine & pharmacotherapie
BACKGROUND Imbalances in Th1/Th2 and Th17/Treg immune axes, coupled with disruptions in the gut microbiota (GM), play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Nucleoside antibiotics IV. Metabolic fate of adenosine and cordycepin by Cordyceps militaris during cordycepin biosynthesis

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis, 1969
Abstract The uptake and metabolism of uniformly 14C-labeled adenosine and the effect of cordycepin (3′-deoxyadenosine) and its 5′-phosphates on Cordyceps militaris have been studied. The uptake of [14C]adenosine by C. militaris was more rapid than the subsequent in vivo phosphorylation, conversion to cordycepin and incorporation into RNA.

Low-carbon and overproduction of cordycepin from methanol using engineered Pichia pastoris cell factory.

Bioresource Technology
Cordycepin, a nucleoside analog, is widely used in medicine and health products. However, the production of cordycepin from Cordyceps militaris faces the challenges of low productivity and high rate of greenhouse gas emissions.
