Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

When IIb Ceases To Be: Bridging the Gap between IIb and Short-plateau Supernovae

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Hydrogen-rich supernovae (SNe) span a range of hydrogen envelope masses at core collapse, producing diverse light curves from extended plateaus in Type IIP SNe to double-peaked Type IIb SNe (SNe IIb).

Spectropolarimetry of Core-Collapse Supernovae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We briefly review the young field of spectropolarimetry of core-collapse supernovae (SNe). Spectropolarimetry provides the only direct known probe of early-time supernova (SN) geometry.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Infant Core-collapse Supernova with Circumstellar Interactions from KMTNet. II. Luminous, Long-lasting Case of KSP-SN-2020f

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present photometric and spectroscopic observations of a luminous, long-lasting (LLL) Type IIn supernova (SN) KSP-SN-2020f found in a dwarf host galaxy at z = 0.1 from the KMTNet SN Program.

The Core-Collapse Supernova Explosion Mechanism

open access: yes, 2016
The explosion mechanism of core-collapse supernovae is a long-standing problem in stellar astrophysics. We briefly outline the main contenders for a solution and review recent efforts to model core-collapse supernova explosions by means of multi ...

Core-collapse supernovae missed by optical surveys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We estimate the fraction of core-collapse supernovae (CCSNe) that remain undetected by optical SN searches due to obscuration by large amounts of dust in their host galaxies.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

The demographics of core-collapse supernovae

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Context. The observational properties of core-collapse supernovae are shaped by the envelopes of their progenitors. In massive binary systems, mass-transfer drastically alters the pre-supernova structures compared to single stars, which leads to a ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting
