Ferrite core materials are preferred for magnetic components in power electronic converters considering their low cost and high permeability. Thanks to their negligible electrical conductivity, core loss is dominated by the frequency-independent ...

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Stellar neutrino energy loss rates due to $^{24}$Mg suitable for O+Ne+Mg core simulations
Neutrino losses from proto-neutron stars play a pivotal role to decide if these stars would be crushed into black holes or explode as supernovae. Recent observations of subluminous Type II-P supernovae (e.g., 2005cs, 2003gd, 1999br, 1997D) were able to ...

Effects of Rotation on the Minimum Mass of Primordial Progenitors of Pair Instability Supernovae [PDF]
The issue of which stars may reach the conditions of electron/positron pair formation instability is of importance to understand the final evolution both of the first stars and of contemporary stars.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Low-loss Multimoded Antiresonant Hollow Core Fiber
We report the first design for low-loss, multimoded antiresonant hollow-core fiber for applications requiring multiple modes. The designed fiber guides 6 - 9 spatially distinct core modes having confinement loss <0.001 - 0.01dB/m respectively.
