Apparent core losses and core losses in five-limb amorphous transformer of 160 kVA
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1998Significant modifications of the shape of magnetic flux in columns and yokes were observed in the magnetic circuit of four amorphous cores used in a 3-phase transformer. The magnetic losses measured experimentally were significantly higher than the ones calculated theoretically.

Intersheet eddy-current loss in laminated cores
Electrical Engineering, 1937CORE LOSS in laminated structures subjected to an alternating magnetomotive force is made up of a hysteresis loss and an eddy-current loss. In modern power transformers the eddy-current loss is approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of the total loss.

Core loss in amorphous cut cores with air gaps
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1989The effects of air gaps on the high-frequency core loss in cut cores made of amorphous ribbons are discussed and methods to reduce the core loss in them are proposed. It has been found that the high-frequency core loss in amorphous cut cores with air gaps increases strikingly with increasing air-gap length. The increase in the core loss due to air gaps

Magnetic loss analysis in Mn–Zn ferrite cores
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2006Abstract Magnetic losses have been measured and analyzed upon a wide range of frequencies in Mn–Zn ferrite ring cores. Exploiting the concept of loss separation and modeling the conductivity process in the heterogeneous material as a function of frequency, the role of the different energy dissipation mechanisms has been elucidated.

Low loss multi-core anti-resonant hollow core fibre
Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science 2024 (FiO, LS)We report a three-core hollow core optical fibre, with low loss guidance at visible and near-infrared wavelengths. Coupling between cores is very weak, while the breaking of rotational symmetry yields fabrication insights.
