Breakdown of the dipole approximation in core losses.
The validity of the dipole approximations commonly used in the inelastic scattering theory for transmission electron microscopy is reviewed. Both experimental and numerical arguments are presented, emphasizing that the dipole approximations cause significant errors of the order of up to 25% even at small momentum transfer.

Analysis of Core Losses in Transformer Working at Static Var Compensator
This article presents the comparison of 3D and 2D finite element models of a power transformer designed for reactive power compensation stations. There is a lack of studies in the literature on internal electromagnetic phenomena in the active part of a ...

Determination of Core Losses Using an Inverse Modeling Technique
This paper presents an inverse thermal modeling technique to determine the core losses from the temperature rise inside the transformer core. For this purpose, initially, a customized printed circuit board (PCB) with thermal sensors is used to measure ...

Physical Modeling of Core Losses in Ferrite E-Cores
The development of advanced power electronic converters requires an accurate calculation of core losses in magnetic devices. But the losses in the widely used ferrite cores depend on the shape of the core, especially above 10 kHz, meaning that core ...

Core loss resistance impact on sensorless speed control of an induction motor using hybrid adaptive sliding mode observer [PDF]
Induction motors (IMs) experience power losses when a portion of the input power is converted to heat instead of driving the load. The combined effect of copper losses, core losses, and mechanical losses results in IM power losses.
