Investigation of Efficiency and Thermal Performance of The Y-source Converters for a Wide Voltage Range

open access: yesRenewable Energy and Sustainable Development, 2015
The Y-source topology has a unique advantage of having high voltages gain with small shoot through duty cycles. Furthermore, having the advantage of high modulation index which increase the power density and improve the performance of the converter.

Solid Rotor Core vs. Lamination Rotor Core in Fractional-Slot PMSM Motor with High Power Density

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Fractional-slot PMSM motors allow for obtaining high values of power density factors, but at the same time, they are characterized by high values of rotor losses—in the rotor core and permanent magnets.

Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas in Children and Adolescents: Expert Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the pancreas (SPN) is a rare low‐grade malignant exocrine pancreatic tumor, mostly discovered during the second decade of life in females, with a very good prognosis, provided microscopically complete surgical excision is achieved.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Three-Dimensional Numerical Field Analysis in Transformers to Identify Losses in Tape Wound Cores

open access: yesSensors
To find the total core losses in 1-phase medium-frequency transformers, a 3D numerical field analysis was carried out. The proposed numerical modeling was based on the extended iterative homogenization method (IHM) developed by the authors.

Impact of Core Sheet Cutting Method on Parameters of Induction Motors

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The method of cutting motor core sheets causes a change in their magnetic properties and core losses, especially additional losses. Reducing motor losses is very important because of the fulfillment of increasingly stringent requirements set by ...
