Testing Magnetic Field Models for the Class 0 Protostar L1527

open access: yes, 2014
For the Class 0 protostar, L1527, we compare 131 polarization vectors from SCUPOL/JCMT, SHARP/CSO and TADPOL/CARMA observations with the corresponding model polarization vectors of four ideal-MHD, non-turbulent, cloud core collapse models.

Multidimensional Core-peripheral Model

open access: yesEUROPEAN RESEARCH STUDIES JOURNAL, 2019
The following article analyzes why an extension of the core-peripheral model is necessary for realistic economic use. The starting point is the core-peripheral model from Krugman. Various modifications are then made to make the Krugman model more robust, growth-oriented, and realistic.

No-Core Shell Model Analysis of Light Nuclei

open access: yes, 2012
The fundamental description of both structural properties and reactions of light nuclei in terms of constituent protons and neutrons interacting through nucleon-nucleon and three-nucleon forces is a long-sought goal of nuclear theory.

The influence of potassium on core and geodynamo evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We model the thermal evolution of the core and mantle using a parametrized convection scheme, and calculate the entropy available to drive the geodynamo as a function of time.

Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

Chaos in the core-periphery model [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Behavior & Organization, 2006
Abstract This paper shows that the standard continuous-time core-periphery model (the foundation of the New Economic Geography) is not robust; simply reformulating it in discrete time has profound implications. The continuous-time model can only exhibit stationary long-term behavior, and high transport costs are perceived as stabilizing. In contrast,

Extrapolation Method for the No-Core Shell Model

open access: yes, 2004
Nuclear many-body calculations are computationally demanding. An estimate of their accuracy is often hampered by the limited amount of computational resources even on present-day supercomputers.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Gut microbiota modulation in cardiac cell therapy with immunosuppression in a nonhuman primate ischemia/reperfusion model

open access: yesnpj Regenerative Medicine
Gut microbiota affect transplantation outcomes; however, the influence of immunosuppression and cell therapy on the gut microbiota in cardiovascular care remains unexplored.

Implementing Health‐Related Quality of Life Assessment in Pediatric Oncology: A Feasibility Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background There is growing interest in embedding health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) assessment and patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) within clinical cancer care. This study evaluated the feasibility, acceptability, and usability of implementing an electronic PROM (ePROM) platform to measure HRQoL in children with cancer ...
