Non‐FDG‐Avid Metastasis Detected by Molecular Imaging in Unknown Primary of the Head and Neck

In a patient with squamous cell carcinoma of unknown primary, the use of molecular imaging identified an additional site of metastasis not seen on traditional PET/CT. This aided in proper diagnosis and alteration of the patient's treatment plan. ABSTRACT Squamous cell carcinoma of unknown primary continues to be a diagnostic challenge.

Abstract Purpose The total number of glomeruli is an important indicator of kidney function and susceptibility to disease. Glomeruli, however, are difficult to image using MRI without contrast enhancement. For this reason, previous studies have used cationic ferritin as a contrast agent to detect glomeruli in ex vivo and in vivo perfused kidneys.
