Femtosecond Laser Structuring in Optical Fiber and Transparent Films
Femtosecond laser processing is optimized for writing optical circuits, optical resonators, and microfluidic devices inside the cladding of single-mode optical fiber that couple efficiently with the fiber core waveguide.

A one-dimensional ultracold medium of extreme optical depth
We report on the preparation of a one-dimensional ultracold medium in a hollow-core photonic crystal fiber, reaching an effective optical depth of 1000(150).

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Optimized coupling of cold atoms into a fiber using a blue-detuned hollow-beam funnel
We theoretically investigate the process of coupling cold atoms into the core of a hollow-core photonic-crystal optical fiber using a blue-detuned Laguerre-Gaussian beam. In contrast to the use of a red-detuned Gaussian beam to couple the atoms, the blue-

Visual Recovery Reflects Cortical MeCP2 Sensitivity in Rett Syndrome
ABSTRACT Objective Rett syndrome (RTT) is a devastating neurodevelopmental disorder with developmental regression affecting motor, sensory, and cognitive functions. Sensory disruptions contribute to the complex behavioral and cognitive difficulties and represent an important target for therapeutic interventions.

Characteristics of Guided Acoustic Wave Brillouin Scattering in Uncoupled Seven-core Few-mode Fiber
The Guided Acoustic Wave Brillouin Scattering (GAWBS) in fibers will be excited at a low optical power level, which can cause large impairments on high-capacity spatial division multiplexing optical fiber communication, digital coherent transmission and ...

Investigation of Fan In and Fan Out Technologies for Multi Core Fiber
Spatial division multiplexing based on the multi-core fiber has been believed as a promising and effective way to overcome the foreseeable capacity crunch of single mode fiber transmission. Fan-in Fan-out (FIFO) technology for multi-core fiber is the key

Trapping of Ultracold Atoms in a Hollow-core Photonic Crystal Fiber
Ultracold sodium atoms have been trapped inside a hollow-core optical fiber. The atoms are transferred from a free space optical dipole trap into a trap formed by a red-detuned gaussian light mode confined to the core of the fiber.

SNUPN‐Related Muscular Dystrophy: Novel Phenotypic, Pathological and Functional Protein Insights
ABSTRACT Objective SNUPN‐related muscular dystrophy or LGMDR29 is a new entity that covers from a congenital or childhood onset pure muscular dystrophy to more complex phenotypes combining neurodevelopmental features, cataracts, or spinocerebellar ataxia. So far, 12 different variants have been described.
