Orbital Angular Momentum Optical Amplifier Based on PbS-Doped Ring-Core Fiber

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2020
A unique orbital angular momentum (OAM) optical amplifier based on a ring-core fiber doped with lead sulfide (PbS) is realized for the first time in this study.

Hollow core fibers for optical amplification [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2019
Hollow core optical fibers are normally passive light transport components. In contrast, within this Letter, we numerically investigate the possibility of using them as optical amplifiers, through the adoption of a novel fiber structure. We show that optical amplification can be achieved in hollow core fibers, where the cladding region is partially ...

Semiconductor Core Optical Fibers

open access: yesFrontiers in Optics 2010/Laser Science XXVI, 2010
Presented here is a review of recent efforts to date in the field of semiconductor core optical fibers. Various processing techniques have been employed to fabricate such fibers and control the degree of crystallinity achieved within the fiber cores.

Nonlinear Optics in Silicon Core Fibers [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Photonics and Optoelectronics Meetings, 2012
The nonlinear transmission properties of hydrogenated amorphous silicon core fibers are characterized for short pulse propagation. Simple pump-probe experiments are employed to demonstrate their use for all-optical control via phase and amplitude modulation.

DISCUS: an end-to-end solution for ubiquitous broadband optical access [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Fiber to the premises has promised to increase the capacity in telecommunications access networks for well over 30 years. While it is widely recognized that optical-fiber-based access networks will be a necessity in the short- to medium-term future, its ...

Mid-infrared supercontinuum generation by tellurite oval-core optical fiber [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
For generating polarization-maintained mid-infrared supercontinuum light, we have simulated, and fabricated tellurite oval-core optical fiber. Polarization-maintained supercontinuum light from 1660 to 2570 nm has been generated from the fabricated ...

Borosilicate Based Hollow-Core Optical Fibers [PDF]

open access: yesFibers, 2019
We discuss the fabrication of hollow-core optical fibers made of borosilicate glass. We show that, despite the high attenuation of the glass relative to silica, the fiber optical losses can be of the same order of magnitude of those obtained by using ultrapure silica glass.

Opportunity and Challenge for Hollow Core Anti Resonant Optical Fiber in the Long-distance Telecommunication

open access: yesGuangtongxin yanjiu, 2023
The scientific research of Hollow Core Anti Resonant Optical Fiber (HCARF) has made a great breakthrough progress, which is expected to break through some inherent limitations of traditional optical fibers. The HCARF guides the light beam in the air core,
