Evaluation of Physical Properties of Core Spun Yarn through Variation of Core Numbers

open access: yes, 2023
The core-spun yarn has gained much concern and popularity all over the world for having elastic and comfort properties. Draft ratio of the core, the number of cores and the type of sheath material are the prime parameters of producing core-spun yarn. These parameters influence the physical and mechanical properties of the yarn.

Strain Sensing Elastic Core-Spun Yarns Based on Long Silver Nanowires

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract Strain sensing is one of the important functions of intelligent fabric, which can transform the external stress (or strain) into visible electrical signals and monitor the characteristics of human physiology and motion. At present, the flexible strain sensor has low sensitivity, small strain range and unstable performance after ...

The household, the labour market or the commodity market? Enabling the division of labour within proto-industries: the case of the Flemish linen industry during a period of decline (first half of nineteenth century) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
One of the key assumptions in the original model of proto-industries, formulated by Mendels, Kriedte, Medick and Schlumbohm, is that the size and composition of families were determined by the proto-industrial work process in which those families were ...
