Investigation of fancy yarn properties considering binder yarn

Melliand international, 2012
The investigation of the influence of binder yarn properties to the tensile properties of the fancy bouclé yarns brought up the following concluding remarks: - The yarns of different count in a higher amount affect the elongation rather than breaking force.

Effect of Yarn Structure on Mechanical Properties of Twisted Yarn Composites

Materials Science Forum, 2014
T wisted yarns are used for bio-composites and nanocomposites as reinforcement . In a twisted yarn, single yarns migrate from surface to inner along the yarn axis. In this research , migration structure is studied by using X-ray CT system

Yarn-to-Yarn Friction in Relation to Some Properties of Fiber Materials

Textile Research Journal, 1993
Yarn-to-yarn friction is an important process because it affects the performance of yarn constructions. Correlations between yarn-to-yarn frictional data and, for example, the strength properties of constructions are mainly reported in a highly qualitative way.

Wrapped-yarn reinforced composites: Part I—yarn properties

Composites Science and Technology, 1985
Abstract Various continuous filament cores helically wrapped with a paper tape have been produced for use in yarn reinforced composites. Yarn cross-sections showed that the wrap is subjected to large longitudinal and lateral strains when it is substantially overlapped.
