The Effectiveness of Combination of Viola odorata L., Rosa damascena Mill. and Coriandrum sativum L. on Quality of Life of Patients with Migraine Headaches: A Randomized, Double Blinded, Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTraditional and Integrative Medicine, 2019
Headache is one of the most common public health problems in the world, which causes patients to see a doctor. Migraine is the second most common cause of headaches after tension headaches. This study is a randomized, double blinded, placebo - controlled

Semiochemical applications for managing the grey field slug (Deroceras reticulatum Müller), a major pest of arable crops

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 11, Page 7288-7301, November 2025.
Trends in semiochemical research highlight promising attractants and repellents for ‘push–pull’ pest control strategies of the grey field slug. Extracts from plants, predators, entomopathogenic fungi, and essential oils demonstrate potential in modifying grey field slug behaviour, inducing avoidance, antifeeding responses, or mortality, offering ...

Rice Root Aphids, Rhopalosiphum rufiabdominale, Preferentially Choose and Multiply Faster on Monocotyledonous Plants

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 173, Issue 11, Page 1205-1215, November 2025.
Rice root aphids (RRAs) feed on a range of monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants. In choice experiments with two potted plants, RRAs invariably selected and multiplied faster on monocotyledonous rye than on dicotyledonous cannabis, celery, coriander, lettuce, pepper, squash, tomato, or marigold.

Syrphid Diversity in Sweet Alyssum Flower Strips in Quebec's Lettuce Fields: Molecular Identification and Delimitation of the Sphaerophoria Complex

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2025.
This study demonstrates that sweet alyssum effectively attracts syrphid species, the majority of which are aphid predators, making it a promising tool for biological control in Quebec lettuce fields. With Toxomerus marginatus as the most abundant species, the research also underscores taxonomic challenges within the Sphaerophoria complex and provides a
