Plots 5.8 m long by 4 rows wide were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Rows were spaced 91 cm apart and plants were spaced 10-15 cm apart within rows. Abstract Three varieties of corn (Bonanza, Jubilee, and Silver Queen) were planted at the Louisiana State University Ben Hur Research Station in the Spring of 1981. Four separate plantings of all 3 corn varieties were made on Feb 26 (early planting), Mar 27 (recommended), and Apr 22 (late) using both conventional tillage and non-tillage.
