Corneal higher-order aberrations in phlyctenular keratitis
Japanese Journal of Ophthalmology, 2020To characterize tomographic patterns and quantify corneal higher-order aberrations (HOAs) in eyes with corneal scar due to phlyctenular keratitis.Retrospective consecutive case series. This study included 51 eyes of 38 patients (24 women; 14 men) with corneal scar due to phlyctenular keratitis. HOAs of the total cornea, and of the anterior and posterior

Age-Related Changes in Corneal Spherical Aberration
Journal of Refractive Surgery, 2018PURPOSE: To analyze the age-related changes in corneal spherical aberration (CSA) and higher order aberrations (HOAs) and to develop a novel model to estimate the change in CSA with age. METHODS: This was a cross-sectional study of the right eyes of 3,769 patients.

Aberrant Corneal Nerve Regeneration after PRK
Cornea, 2003To report a case of aberrant corneal nerve regeneration after myopic photorefractive keratectomy (PRK).One patient underwent bilateral PRK to correct a refractive error of -5.50 D in each eye. Thirteen months after the original PRK, the left eye underwent an uncomplicated PRK reoperation to correct a regression of -1.00 D.

Using Corneal Height Maps and Polynomial Decomposition to Determine Corneal Aberrations
Optometry and Vision Science, 1997ABSTRACT: Purpose. To review the use of corneal videokeratoscopic height data, elaborate on the advantages and disadvantages of such data, describe techniques for overcoming the limitations of height data, and demonstrate its use in quantifying the optical properties and aberrations of the ...

Changes in corneal aberrations after cataract surgery
Japanese Journal of Ophthalmology, 2016To study the changes in corneal aberrations after cataract surgery. This study comprised 36 eyes of 36 patients (mean age, 67.3 years) who underwent cataract surgery through a 2.2-mm superior sclerocorneal incision. The anterior, posterior, and total corneal wavefront aberrations for the 6.0-mm pupillary diameter were measured preoperatively and 1 month

Control of Corneal Astigmatism and Aberrations
2010Sub-2 mm incision of MICS manipulates the tissues gently with minimal surgical trauma and distortion of the surrounding tissues. Among the major advantages of MICS is the reduction of surgical trauma resulting in a reduction of surgically induced astigmatism (SIA).

The effects of chalazion excision on corneal surface aberrations
Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, 2014This study is the first to consider the effects of chalazion on corneal surface aberrations taking into account of corneal zones, and to establish the size standard for the excision of chalazion.Twenty three eyes from 23 patients with central upper eyelid chalazion larger than 3mm were recruited in this prospective study.
