Lamellar Corneal Autograft for Corneal Perforation

ABSTRACT A corneal perforation developed in the right eye of a 46-year-old man after removal of a corneal foreign body. Two attempts to seal the perforation with cyanoacrylate glue failed. The patient subsequently underwent lamellar corneal autograft, which successfully closed the perforation.

Corneal Perforation in a Patient with Cockayneʼs Syndrome

A 10-year-old boy with Cockayne's syndrome had an aseptic perforation centered in a corneal opacity of the right eye. Exposure keratitis, which was caused by anhidrosis, loss of blinking, and lack of Bell's phenomenon, was considered responsible for this condition. A therapeutic soft contact lens was applied to heal the corneal wound.

A Technique for the Repair of Perforated Corneal Ulcers

A simple but effective technique for restoring the anterior chamber in cases of perforated corneal ulcer is reported. It consists of placing a thin slice of corneal tissue on the ulcer, covering it with a transparent membrane of silicone rubber, and holding the membrane and the tissue in place with tight overlying sutures.
