Acoustic inspection is a valuable technique that can detect early stage defects in equipment, thereby facilitating predictive maintenance. In recent times, ultrasonic sensors have made detecting partial discharges through acoustic sensing increasingly ...

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

On the Pressure in the Corona Discharge [PDF]
Theory of Pressure Effects Due to the Corona Discharge, in Terms of Ionic Mobility.---The characteristic pressure effect is an excess pressure of from 1 to 3 cm. of water inside a tube concentric with the discharge wire. Assuming that the momentum given the ions by the electric field is transferred to the gas, the author shows that the excess pressure ...

ABSTRACT Introduction/Objective Acute intracranial stenting during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for ischemic stroke requires intraprocedural antiplatelet therapy (APT) to maintain patency. However, the hemorrhagic risk of combining APT with intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) remains uncertain.

Influence of Electrode Shape and Spacing on Corona Discharge Phenomena using a Plasma Generator
Electrical discharges that happen near high-voltage conductors are known as corona discharges. It will produce light and sound as it ionises the surrounding air.

ABSTRACT Background Ischemic stroke, a major cause of mortality and long‐term disability, results from the abrupt cessation of cerebral blood flow due to vascular occlusion or rupture. Icosapent Ethyl (EPA‐EE), approved for hypertriglyceridemia, has anti‐inflammatory and antithrombotic properties that may lessen ischemic damage.

An acoustic velocity sensor is described. It uses a small volume of ionized gas as sensing element to estimate the velocity of air particles, especially their oscillations caused by an acoustic perturbation. The generation of charged particles is performed by a negative point-to-plane discharge, the plane anode being split into two electrically ...

Ionospheric Elves Powered by Corona Discharges in Overshooting Thunderclouds
Corona discharges in thundercloud tops are observed by the Atmosphere‐Space Interactions Monitor (ASIM) as blue flashes at the 337 nm spectral line of N2 and by ground receivers as so‐called Narrow Bipolar Events (NBEs) in the radio signals.
