Evaluation of Polygenic Scores and CT Imaging in Risk Factor Modification in Patients With Diabetes: Rationale and Design of the VOLTAIRE Study

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
Three‐arm randomized trial assessing whether computed tomography coronary angiography or polygenic risk score disclosure, combined with nurse‐led counseling, improves cardiovascular risk factor modification in people with type 2 diabetes. ABSTRACT Background The contemporary management of type 2 diabetes (T2D) involves a multifaceted model of care ...

IVUS‐Guided Versus Angiography‐Guided PCI for Unprotected Left Main Coronary Artery Disease: A Systematic Review, Meta‐Analysis, and GRADE Assessment of Randomized Trials

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
graphical abstract for IVUS‐guided versus angiography‐guided pci for unprotected left main coronary artery disease. ABSTRACT Background Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) has been increasingly used as an adjunctive tool for complex percutaneous interventions (PCIs); however, comparative randomized evidence with conventional angiography in unprotected left

A Comparative Analysis of Short‐Term Outcomes of Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Alone or Simultaneous Cerebral Revascularization: A Single‐Center Retrospective Study

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
The final flowchart categorizes subjects into two groups: the control group (n = 60) undergoing OPCABG alone and the combined cardiocerebrovascular revascularization group (n = 57). ABSTRACT Objectives The impact of simultaneous coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) with cerebral revascularization versus CABG alone on perioperative complications and ...

Association of the TyG Index, Cardiometabolic Index, and Epicardial Adipose Tissue With Coronary Artery Disease

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study demonstrates that the TyG index, CMI, and EATi are independently associated with CAD. CMI partially mediates the relationship between TyG and CAD, whereas EATi contributes through an independent pathway. These findings suggest that integrating metabolic and adiposity‐related markers may improve cardiovascular risk assessment.

Uric Acid and Uric Acid Index in Predicting Coronary Artery Disease, Cerebrovascular Events, and Mortality: A Sex‐Stratified Cohort Study

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
Uric acid index, integrating SUA, TG, and FBG, outperforms serum uric acid alone in predicting coronary artery disease and mortality over 10 years, with stronger effects in women, highlighting its value as a more robust cardiovascular risk biomarker.

Improved Prediction of Cardiovascular Events Using Serial Cardio‐Ankle Vascular Index (CAVI) Measurements: A 10‐Year Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
Serial CAVI measurements better predict long‐term CV events than a single baseline value, particularly for composite events, non‐fatal stroke, and CV death. In contrast, baseline CAVI showed weaker associations, with statistical significance observed only for non‐fatal CAD.

Impact of Chronic Kidney Disease Severity on Clinical Outcomes After Drug‐Eluting Stent Implantation: A Propensity Score–Matched Analysis

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
Moderate‐to‐severe CKD was associated with higher MACE and renal function deterioration after DES implantation in a propensity score‐matched cohort, supporting CKD‐based cardiorenal risk stratification and closer post‐PCI monitoring. ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is prevalent among patients undergoing percutaneous coronary ...

Evaluate the Prognostic Value of serumγKlotho on Long‐Term Prognosis of Patients With Multivessel Coronary Artery Disease and Establish a Prognostic Model

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
Higher serum γKlotho level correlated with the poor prognosis of MVD patients, our predictive model exhibited better predictive ability and clinical usefulness. ABSTRACT Objective This study was aimed at analyzing the correlation of serum γKlotho with the long‐term prognosis of multivessel coronary artery disease (MVD) and develop a predictive model to
