A Human Engineered Heart Tissue‐Derived Lipotoxic Diabetic Cardiomyopathy Model Revealed Early Benefits of Empagliflozin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a human engineered heart tissue‐derived model of diabetic cardiomyopathy that accurately replicates the dynamic changes in the structural, contractile, and electrophysiological properties of the myocardium. Furthermore, this model is used to confirm the direct protective effects of empagliflozin on the heart through an SGLT2 off ...

A Case of Spontaneous Multivessel Coronary Artery Spasm That Underwent Stent Implantation Accompanying ST Segment Elevation on Inferior Electrocardiographic Leads

open access: yesCase Reports in Cardiology, 2016
Coronary artery spasm is usually defined as a focal constriction of a coronary artery segment, which is reversible, and causes myocardial ischaemia by restricting coronary blood flow.

In Vivo Dynamic Coronary Arteries Blood Flow Imaging Based on Multi‐Cycle Phase Clustering Ultrafast Ultrasound

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study addresses a critical gap in ultrafast ultrasound cardiovascular flow imaging and introduces a transformative approach, Clustering Singular Value Decomposition (cSVD), which enables dynamic cardiovascular flow imaging throughout full cardiac cycle without motion correction and hyper‐fast imaging strategies.

Acquired origin of the left anterior descending coronary artery from the pulmonary artery: A complication of the arterial switch operation

open access: yesAnnals of Pediatric Cardiology, 2011
The prevalence of coronary anomalies in the transposition of the great arteries is high. Transfer of the coronary arteries during arterial switch operation is the principle step and incomplete transport of the coronary arteries to the neoaortic root ...

ALKBH5‐Mediated M6A Demethylation of G3BP1 Attenuates Ferroptosis Via Cytoplasmic Retention of YBX1/p53 in Diabetic Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ALKBH5 promoted G3BP1 expression via m⁶A methylation at sites 142/173. G3BP1 interacts with YBX1 and p53, reducing their nuclear translocation and decreasing p53‐mediated SLC7A11 repression. This inhibites cardiomyocyte ferroptosis and mitigates myocardial damage during diabetic ischemia‐reperfusion injury.

Atrial Fibroblasts‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Exacerbate Atrial Arrhythmogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exosome miR‐224‐5p derived from angiotensin II‐treated atrial fibroblasts creates a substrate for AF by promoting atrial electrical remodeling. Increased exosome miR‐224‐5p enhances AF susceptibility by inhibiting CACNA1c expression and decreasing ICa current of atrial cardiomyocytes.
