Prognostic role of TAPSE to PASP ratio in outpatients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction
Abstract Aims Few data are available regarding the role of tricuspid annulus plane systolic excursion to pulmonary artery systolic pressure (TAPSE/PASP), a measurement of right ventricular to pulmonary artery coupling, in patients with chronic heart failure and left ventricular systolic dysfunction.

Left Ventricular Dissecting Hematoma Caused by Tissue Stabilizer
Coronary artery bypass grafting is a commonly performed procedure for coronary revascularization. We describe the successful management of left ventricular dissecting hematoma, caused by the tissue stabilizer, while performing off-pump coronary artery ...

Postoperative stroke after off-pump versus on-pump coronary artery bypass surgery
ObjectiveThe value of off-pump over conventional coronary artery bypass surgery in reducing the risk of postoperative stroke is controversial. This issue has been evaluated in light of our recent clinical experience.MethodsOff-pump coronary artery bypass

Abstract Background Obesity is a known risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet an ‘obesity paradox’ has been observed in various CVD contexts. The impact of obesity on heart failure (HF) patients treated with a wearable cardioverter‐defibrillator (WCD) remains underexplored.

The short-term effects of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery on cognitive performance
Includes bibliographical references (leaves 63-74).Considerable research evidence suggests that post-operative cognitive impairment is a common complication of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.

BackgroundPatients on dialysis sustain at least a threefold higher in-hospital mortality rate and markedly higher long-term mortality following coronary artery bypass graft surgery than the general population. Smaller studies have suggested that dialysis

Abstract Aims Mortality in cardiogenic shock (CS) remains elevated, with the potential for CS causes to impact prognosis and risk stratification. The aim was to investigate in‐hospital prognosis and mortality in CS patients according to aetiology. We also assessed the prognostic accuracy of CardShock and IABP‐SHOCK II scores.

Coronary Artery Spasm Following Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
Coronary artery spasm after coronary artery bypass surgery may result in life-threatening arrhythmias, circulatory collapse, or death. We report two cases of coronary artery spasm after coronary artery bypass surgery, one of which developed ventricular fibrillation requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support.
