Comparative analysis of anatomic changes and feasibility of valve-in-valve transcatheter aortic valve replacement between Konno and Y-incision aortic root enlargementCentral MessagePerspective

open access: yesJTCVS Techniques
Objective: To evaluate anatomic changes in the aortic root after different aortic root enlargement (ARE) techniques and assess the risk of coronary obstruction during future valve-in-valve (ViV) transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedures ...

Successful Revascularization of Chronic Total Occlusions in Patients With Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Disease

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 107, Issue 7, Page 2323-2334, June 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary disease (CTEPD) leads to chronic total occlusions (CTOs) of the pulmonary arteries in a minority of patients. Treatment of CTOs with balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) may substantially improve patient hemodynamics but presents unique technical challenges and has previously been associated with a ...

Reversal of Pacing‐Induced Cardiomyopathy After Upgrade to Left Bundle Branch Area Pacing: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT High‐burden right ventricular pacing induced cardiomyopathy in a 47‐year‐old male; upgrading to left bundle branch area pacing may lead to rapid and sustained recovery of cardiac function.

Syncope as the Initial Presentation of Takayasu Arteritis in a 57‐Year‐Old Female: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Takayasu arteritis (TA) is a rare chronic granulomatous large‐vessel vasculitis predominantly affecting the aorta and its major branches, leading to stenosis, occlusion, or aneurysm formation. It typically presents in young women, though atypical cases can occur in older adults.

Cuspal dissection of aorta during percutaneous coronary intervention to left anterior descending artery managed successfully

open access: yesIHJ Cardiovascular Case Reports, 2018
Cuspal dissection of aorta during cardiac interventions is rare. It can be asymptomatic or can cause life threatening complications. It can be managed by stenting the ostia of the involved coronary artery or may require surgical intervention when it is ...

Acute Pericardial Effusion After Vein of Marshall Ethanol Infusion for Persistent Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
This study reports a 25.2% incidence of acute pericardial effusion following vein of Marshall ethanol infusion for persistent atrial fibrillation. The extent of the resulting low‐voltage area was identified as an independent predictor of pericardial effusion, reflecting the magnitude of chemical injury.

Case of Double Right Coronary Artery: Diagnosed on Computed Tomography Coronary Angiography

open access: yesHeart India, 2015
Anomalies of the coronary artery are often asymptomatic and uncommon. Double right coronary artery (RCA) is a very rare coronary anomaly. So far, the number of reported cases of double RCA is not many.

Efficacy and Safety of Catheter Ablation in Very Elderly Patients With Atrial Fibrillation: Short‐ To Mid‐Term Outcomes From a Multicenter Study

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
Patients aged ≥ 80 years with atrial fibrillation underwent catheter ablation. At 2 years, the recurrence‐free survival rate was 85.8% in paroxysmal AF and 63.6% in persistent AF (p = 0.024), and periprocedural complications occurred in 12.0%, including severe complications in 3.3%.

Para‐Hisian Extra Pacing Enables Unmasking of Hidden Slow Retrograde Conduction

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
In the presence of dual retrograde pathways, conventional Para‐Hisian pacing may fail to reveal the slow pathway, likely due to masking by fast retrograde conduction. In such cases, Para‐Hisian extra pacing—combining programmed right ventricular stimulation with differential His bundle capture—enables assessment of the slow retrograde conduction.
