Impact of Pericardial Fat on Intracardiac Atrial Impedance and Generator Impedance

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
Intracardiac atrial impedance (IAI) was associated with pericardial fat volume, serum sodium levels, and hemoglobin concentrations, but not with body mass index. IAI was also an independent determinant of generator impedance. These findings suggest that IAI may serve as a real‐time indicator for optimizing ablation strategies based on patient‐specific ...

Absent Left Main Coronary Artery with Separate Origin of Left Anterior Descending Artery and Left Circumflex Artery from Left Coronary Sinus

open access: yesMethodist DeBakey Cardiovascular Journal
We report a case of a 49-year-old female who presented with atypical chest pain. An electrocardiogram-gated coronary computed tomography angiography revealed the absence of the left main coronary artery segment with direct origin of the left anterior ...

Anomalous origin of right coronary artery from left coronary sinus associated with aneurysm of aortic root

open access: yesHeart Vessels and Transplantation, 2018
Prevalence of anomalous origin of right coronary artery (RCA) from left coronary sinus in population according to autopsy studies is 0.026%. Origin of left main coronary artery and RCA from opposite sinus of Valsalva with further course of anomalous ...

Electrophysiological Characteristics of Atrial Fibrillation Trigger Sites During Ongoing Atrial Fibrillation Using Ultra‐High‐Resolution Mapping

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
AF trigger sites exhibited a markedly shorter minimum local cycle length during ongoing AF, suggesting transient rapid activity. Ultra‐high‐resolution mapping during ongoing AF may provide complementary mechanistic information when conventional trigger mapping is inconclusive.

Atrial Leadless Pacemaker Embolization to the Left Common Iliac Vein With Successful Retrieval: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
A rare extracardiac complication in which a dislodged atrial leadless pacemaker migrated retrogradely to the left common iliac vein. This case highlights the role of venous anatomy in implantation difficulty and demonstrates successful device retrieval using a preventive strategy.

Zero Fluoroscopy Radiofrequency Slow‐Pathway Modification for AVNRT in Patients ≤ 21 Years: A Single‐Center Cohort and Contextual Review of Literature

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
In 125 consecutive pediatric and young adult patients (age ≤ 21 years), zero‐fluoroscopy radiofrequency slow‐pathway modification for AVNRT—guided entirely by CARTO 3D electroanatomic mapping—achieved 100% acute success, zero recurrences at 36‐month follow‐up, and zero major complications, supporting fluoroless RF ablation as a durable first‐line ...

Echocardiographic detection of intimo-intimal intussusception in a patient with acute Stanford type A aortic dissection

open access: yesAnnals of Cardiac Anaesthesia, 2015
Intimo-intimal intussusception is a very rare and unusual complication of type A dissections, typically noted on  TEE exam. It has been reported in a few cases in the cardiothoracic surgical and radiology literature, and even more rarely in the cardiac ...

An Anomalous Configuration of Coronary Artery: A Cadaveric Study

open access: yesCase Reports in Cardiology, 2013
Anatomical variations in relation to coronary artery and its branches will help cardiac surgeons for refining imaging techniques and coronary artery bypass grafting. A heart was detected with multiple anomalies of coronary arteries in a cadaver.

The role of multimodality imaging in diagnosing an adult-type anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery: A case report

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research
Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery is a rare congenital coronary anomaly. This case report describes an adult male with anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery, in whom transthoracic ...
