Hypoxia‐Induced O‐GlcNAcylation of GATA3 Leads to Excessive Testosterone Production in Preeclamptic Placentas

Hypoxia at the maternal–fetal interface of early‐onset preeclamptic placentas triggers global O‐GlcNAcylation. This process stabilizes the protein through O‐GlcNAcylation of GATA3 at Thr322 and transcriptionally induces the expression of 3β‐HSD1 and 17β‐HSD3, key androgen synthetases.
