Rupture of the corpus cavernosum is a rare but probably under-reported entity. It truly represents a urological emergency and current recommendations are for early surgical intervention. We review 5 cases with evaluation, treatment and followup. Delays in treatment lead to long-term complications, such as erectile dysfunction and penile curvature.

VAGINAL RECURRENCE OF CARCINOMA OF THE CORPUS. MANAGEMENT AND PREVENTION

Abstract Forty-six cases of carcinoma of the uterine corpus with metastasis to the vagina are reported. Nine involved the anterior vaginal wall or urethra. Twelve involved the vaginal wall and pelvis, and twenty-five involved the vaginal apex only. Fifty per cent of the patients survived for more than five years after recurrence.

Post operative radiotherapy in the management of uterine corpus carcinoma

An account is given of the incidence of vaginal and pelvic lymph node recurrences from Corpus Carcinoma. The value and place of Radiotherapy is considered, either by ‘Cathetron’ intra-vaginal irradiation or by combining this with external telecobalt therapy. The results of treatment are analysed for 86 cases treated over a period of 2 years.
