Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

On the Relation Between the Polychoric Correlation Coefficient and Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient [PDF]
Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient is shown to be a deterministic transformation of the empirical polychoric correlation coefficient. The transformation is a homeomorphism under given marginal probabilities, and has a fixed point at zero.

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Investigation of Some Methods for Estimating the Mutual Dynamic Stability of Stochastic Processes
The sensitivity of some methods for estimating the mutual dynamic stability of stochastic processes with given correlative properties was studied in relation to the phase detuning between the processes.

Validity of a Wearable Digital Insole for Assessing Gait ON and OFF in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Gait impairment is a distinctive symptom of Parkinson's disease that negatively impact mobility. We assessed the validity of wearable digital insoles against a validated reference gait analysis system for measuring select gait characteristics in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods A comparative analysis between digital insoles

ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.

An empirical polychoric correlation coefficient
We propose a new measure of association for ordinal variables. The new measure of association, named the empirical polychoric correlation coefficient, builds upon the polychoric correlation coefficient, but relaxes its fundamental assumption so that an ...
