The Settlement of Patagonia: A Matrix Correlation Study

open access: yesHuman Biology, 2001
Matrix correlation represents an innovative methodology to evaluate the explanatory power of several hypotheses by measuring their correspondence with observed morphological variation. In this paper, we view the origins of Patagonians from a matrix correlation approach.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Portfolio Risk of International Diversification of Kosovo Pension Fund: A Historical Perspective

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2017
Finance do not stand on static variables like exact sciences, they are changeable and influenced from human actions. The question where to invest funds, is a crucial task for financial managers.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Winter Oilseed Rape LAI Inversion via Multi-Source UAV Fusion: A Three-Dimensional Texture and Machine Learning Approach

open access: yesPlants
Leaf area index (LAI) serves as a critical indicator for evaluating crop growth and guiding field management practices. While spectral information (vegetation indices and texture features) extracted from multispectral sensors mounted on unmanned aerial ...

Dissecting the Relationship between Root Morphological Traits and Yield Attributes in Diverse Rice Cultivars under Subtropical Condition

open access: yesLife, 2022
Understanding the link between root morphological traits and yields is crucial for improving crop management. To evaluate this link, a pot experiment was conducted in the net house of the Department of Agronomy, Bangladesh Agricultural University ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
