Rotation in Correspondence Analysis
Journal of Classification, 2005In correspondence analysis rows and columns of a nonnegative data matrix are depicted as points in a, usually, two-dimensional plot. Although such a two-dimensional plot often provides a reasonable approximation, the situation can occur that an approximation of higher dimensionality is required. This is especially the case when the data matrix is large.

AbstractCorrespondence analysis (CA) is a method of data visualization that is applicable to cross‐tabular data such as counts, compositions, or any ratio‐scale data where relative values are of interest. All the data should be on the same scale and the row and column margins of the table must make sense as weighting factors because the analysis gives ...

Influence in Correspondence Analysis
Applied Statistics, 1992Summary: The influence of individual observations in a correspondence analysis is investigated. Two alternative definitions of `observation' are possible. For each definition, expressions are presented for influence on the plotting positions of rows and columns of the contingency table being analysed.

Taxicab Correspondence Analysis
Psychometrika, 2006Taxicab correspondence analysis is based on the taxicab singular value decomposition of a contingency table, and it shares some similar properties with correspondence analysis. It is more robust than the ordinary correspondence analysis, because it gives uniform weights to all the points.

Multiple Correspondence Analysis
2010The purpose of this monograph is to provide a nontechnical introduction to Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) as a method in its own right; no prior knowledge of Correspondence Analysis (CA) is needed. The presentation will be practically oriented and with the needs of research in mind: gathering relevant data, formulating questions of interest ...

On the prehistory of Correspondence Analysis
Statistica Neerlandica, 1983Abstract The early history of correspondence analysis is reviewed. It is shown that K. Pearson came very close to discovering correspondence analysis in 1906. That he did not actually discover it may be because he was not familiar with the singular value decomposition, which is the basic existence result in correspondence analysis.

Annotation: Correspondence Analysis
Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, 1997Correspondence analysis is a useful technique in the investigation of relationships between categorical variables. By displaying these relationships graphically, correspondence analysis solutions may allow investigators to obtain insights into the structure of their data more readily than would be obtained by simply studying tables of numerical values ...

Correspondence analysis is an exploratory technique for complex categorical data, typical of corpus-driven research. It identifies patterns of association and disassociation in those data. For instance, it can map the correlations between different uses of a linguistic form and its various social and/or morpho-syntactic contexts. The technique presents
