Electrochemical Corrosion Behavior of AA7003
Materials Performance, 2018The electrochemical corrosion behavior of 7003 aluminum alloy (AA7003) under peak aging (PA), double peak aging (DPA), and regression re-aging (RRA) in sodium chloride (NaCl) solution at different temperatures have been studied by using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests in combination with scanning electron ...

Abstract This article discusses pitting corrosion, the effects of composition and microstructure on corrosion, galvanic corrosion and protection, deposition corrosion, stress-corrosion cracking, and intergranular corrosion. It reviews slow-strain-rate testing, hydrogen embrittlement, corrosion fatigue, liquid-metal embrittlement, and ...

Corrosion Behavior of Titanium in HCl
Corrosion, 1973The polarization behavior of titanium in hydrochloric acid has been investigated. Titanium in 4N HCl showed an active and passive region during anodic polarization. After anodic polarization into the passive region, titanium remained passive but could be reactivated by cathodic polarization.

Corrosion Behavior of Irradiated Zircaloy
1994There is ample evidence in the literature of the effects of reactor irradiation on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of zirconium alloys. Specifically, it has been shown that boiling water reactor (BWR) irradiation generally induces nodular corrosion and causes marked changes in precipitate structure and composition.

Corrosion Behavior of Nickel in Methanol
Corrosion, 1986Corrosion behavior of pure nickel in methanol containing different concentrations of water, chloride, and H+ ions has been studied using the potentiodynamic technique. Nickel does not exhibit passivity in methanol containing less than 0.5% water. The passive film on the metal is found to be stable in a large range of anode potentials in methanol ...

Nanomaterials Behavior in Corrosion Environments
2015The main aspects of the materials corrosion are considered taking special attention to some specific material behavior associated with the nanostructure. The NMs properties and behavior in the various corrosion media are generalized including the combined actions and high-temperature oxidation.

Understanding the Corrosion Behavior of Aluminum
1999Abstract Aluminum generally has excellent resistance to corrosion and gives years of maintenance-free service in natural atmospheres, fresh waters, seawater, many soils and chemicals, and most foods. This chapter explains why aluminum and aluminum alloys are naturally resistant to corrosion and describes the conditions and circumstances ...

The Electrochemical and Corrosion Behavior of Aluminum
1970Abstract : The electrochemical behavior of high-purity aluminum was studied to clarify the corrosion behavior of the metal when exposed to oxygen-free and oxygen-saturated saline solutions of varying pH. The mixed or corrosion potential, E sub M, of the electropolished high-purity aluminum decreases as the pH is increased except in the intermediate pH ...
