Electrochemical deposition of a copper carboxylate layer on copper as potential corrosion inhibitor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Carboxylic acids and sodium carboxylates are used to protect metals against aqueous and atmospheric corrosion. In this paper we describe the application of a layer of copper carboxylate on the surface of a copper electrode by means of cyclic voltammetry ...

Influence of flow on the corrosion inhibition of carbon steel by fatty amines in association with phosphonocarboxylic acid salts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This work was carried out to study the inhibition mechanism of a carbon steel in a 200 mg l−1 NaCl solution by a non-toxic multi-component inhibitor used for water treatment in cooling circuits.

Corrosion inhibition of 2024 aluminium alloy by sodium decanoate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The present study concerns the corrosion protection of the aluminium alloy (AA) 2024 by sodium decanoate (a long-carbon-chain carboxylate). This compound-type is known to form hydrophobic films on the metal surface. The characterization of the inhibition

The effect of fluorine-containing inhibitors of corrosion of copper in atmospheric conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The effect of fluorine-containing inhibitors of corrosion of copper in atmospheric conditions was studied by method of removing anodic polarization curves and corrosion of full-scale tests.

Experimental Investigation of Natural Plant Extracts as A Green Corrosion Inhibitor in Steel

open access: yesJournal of Renewable Energy and Mechanics, 2022
Natural plant extracts show excellent performance in inhibiting steel corrosion. Steel has a relatively weak resistance to corrosion when in a corrosive environment.

Experimental and quantum chemical calculations on corrosion inhibition of mild steel by two furan derivatives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Two furan derivatives namely 5-methylfurfurylamine (MFA) and furfurylamine (FAM) were investigated as corrosion inhibitors for mild steel in 1 M HCl.

Synthesis of Aromatic Structured Di-cationic Surfactants Used as Inhibitors Against Corrosion of Carbon Steel in Acidic Medium

open access: yesJournal of the Turkish Chemical Society, Section A: Chemistry, 2018
In this study, three aromatic-structured di-cationic surfactants with different length carbon chains were synthesized and inhibition efficiencies against metal corrosion in 1.0 M HCl solution were investigated.

Corrosion Inhibition of Stainless Steel(314L) using Molasses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The inhibition effect of molasses of varying concentrations (0.2g/L, 0.3g/L, 0.4g/L, 0.5g/L) on the corrosion of austenitic stainless steel (type 316L) in 0.5M tetraoxosulphate(vi )acid (H2SO4), Brine (6% NaCl), seawater (3% NaCl) and freshwater media ...

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Investigation the effect of Papaver Rhoeas, Malva Grandfolia, and Carduus Marianus Leaves Extracts on Mild Steel in HCl solution, by using weight loss method and linear polarisation resistance technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We can say mild steel studied corrodes in hydrochloric acid solutions, and also mild steel corrodes when exposed to a solution of HCl and the rate of corrosion increases as the immersion time increases.
