Lateral projection as a possible explanation of the nontrivial boundary dependence of the Casimir force [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We find the lateral projection of the Casimir force for a configuration of a sphere above a corrugated plate. This force tends to change the sphere position in the direction of a nearest corrugation maximum.

Wave-Blocking Characteristics of Corrugated Plates under Explosion

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
Corrugated-board explosion-proof wall is the main means to prevent explosion shock wave damage, and it is important to study the effect of different corrugated plates on the shock wave.

Effect of different corrugation interruptions Parameters on thermohydrodynamic characteristics and heat transfer performance of 3D Three-dimensional corrugated tube

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2022
The use og internal corrugated tubes with varying Reynolds numbers (Re) at a constant wall heat flux, we examine the effects of mixing secondary, spiral, and swirl flows on heat transfer and pressure drop. Furthermore, varying flow analysis is applied to

Suitability Analysis of the Deformation Behavior of Metal Corrugated Casing in High-Temperature Wellbore

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
The stability of the casing is a crucial prerequisite for implementing the in situ high-temperature steam injection method in oil shale reservoirs. In order to address the issues of substantial expansion, concentrated thermal stresses, and susceptibility

Development of a Sinusoidal Corrugated Dual-Axial Flexure Mechanism for Planar Nanopositioning

open access: yesActuators, 2022
Taking advantage of the concurrent stretching and bending property of corrugated flexure hinges, a sinusoidal corrugated flexure linkage was proposed and applied for the construction of a corrugated dual-axial mechanism with structural symmetry and ...

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE THERMO-CONVECTIVE BEHAVIOR OF A TURBULENT FLOW IN A RECTANGULAR DUCT IN THE PRESENCE OF THREE PLANAR BAFFLES AND/OR CORRUGATED (WAVED) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2018
This study numerically examines the behaviour of a two-dimensional turbulent flow of air in a rectangular pipe with three flat or corrugated baffles. A realizable k-ε turbulence model is used and the conservation equations are solved by the finite volume

Effect of controlled corrugation on capillary condensation of colloid-polymer mixtures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We investigate with Monte Carlo computer simulations the capillary phase behaviour of model colloid-polymer mixtures confined between a flat wall and a corrugated wall.

3D Simulation on turbulent flow and heat transfer behaviors in a five-start corrugated tube: Effect of depth ratio and tube modification

open access: yesEngineering and Applied Science Research, 2021
This paper presents a 3D simulation of turbulent flow and heat transfer behaviors in a five-start corrugated tube having depth ratios, DR = 0.02-0.16 and constant pitch ratio, PR = 1.0 0 and the Reynold number ranging from 5000 to 20,000.

Quantitative Nanofriction Characterization of Corrugated Surfaces by Atomic Force Microscopy

open access: yes, 2003
Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) is a suitable tool to perform tribological characterization of materials down to the nanometer scale. An important aspect in nanofriction measurements of corrugated samples is the local tilt of the surface, which affects the

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.
