Transport composite fuselage technology: Impact dynamics and acoustic transmission [PDF]
A program was performed to develop and demonstrate the impact dynamics and acoustic transmission technology for a composite fuselage which meets the design requirements of a 1990 large transport aircraft without substantial weight and cost penalties. The

Phases of lattice hard core bosons in a periodic superlattice
We study by Quantum Monte Carlo simulations the phase diagram of lattice hard core bosons with nearest-neighbour repulsive interactions, in the presence of a super-lattice of adsorption sites.

Femtosecond laser irradiation at the glass surface induces symmetry breaking and crystallization of triclínic t‐Te nanophases, enabling intense second‐harmonic generation (SHG). The illustration depicts the fs‐pulse interaction, structural rearrangement, and nonlinear activation from amorphous tellurite glass to crystalline regions.

Effect of trapezoidal pattern on deflection of sandwich panel with corrugated core
The deflection behavior of square sandwich panels with corrugated core of trapezoidal cross section at different pitch lengths and heights of trapezoidal pattern was investigated using the FEM analysis, where the panel size was fixed at total height of ...

Analysis of Corrugated Core Sandwich Panels
Abstract The demand for light weight sandwich panels are becoming increasingly important as multi-functional components in many areas. The tremendous need of these light weight modular structures have application in bridge deck slabs, partition walls, roof slabs etc. Corrugated core sandwich panels are composite structures in which a corrugated

Friction Shock Absorbers and Reverse Thrust for Fast Multirotor Landing on High‐Speed Vehicles
ABSTRACT Typical landing gears of small uninhabited aerial vehicles (UAV) limit their capability to land on vehicles moving at more than 20–50 km/h due to high drag forces, high pitch angles and potentially high relative horizontal velocities. To enable landing at higher speeds, a combination of lightweight friction shock absorbers and reverse thrust ...

Structural efficiency studies of corrugated compression panels with curved caps and beaded webs [PDF]
Curved cross-sectional elements are employed in structural concepts for minimum-mass compression panels. Corrugated panel concepts with curved caps and beaded webs are optimized by using a nonlinear mathematical programming procedure and a rigorous ...

Spontaneous Intercalation of Graphene on Sapphire
When left at room temperature, even in depressurized atmosphere, foreign molecular species can intercalate in between graphene and the (31$\sqrt {\mathbf {31}}$×$\times$31$\sqrt {\mathbf {31}}$)R9∘$^{\circ }$ reconstruction, effectively decoupling the graphene from its substrate: αAl2O3$\alpha {\rm Al}_2{\rm O}_3$(0001).

Spectral gap induced by structural corrugation in armchair graphene nanoribbons
We study the effects of the structural corrugation or rippling on the electronic properties of undoped armchair graphene nanoribbons (AGNR). First, reanalyzing the single corrugated graphene layer we find that the two inequivalent Dirac points (DP), move

This review investigates the processing‐microstructure‐property relationships in ferritic stainless steels (FSSs). It highlights advances in deformation behavior, heat treatments, surface modifications, and alloying effects. Theoretical models, including Johnson‐Mehl‐Avrami‐Kolmogorov, Arrhenius, nucleation theory, and diffusion theories, are discussed
