Identifying Sources and Sinks in the Presence of Multiple Agents with Gaussian Process Vector Calculus

open access: yes, 2018
In systems of multiple agents, identifying the cause of observed agent dynamics is challenging. Often, these agents operate in diverse, non-stationary environments, where models rely on hand-crafted environment-specific features to infer influential ...

Lectotypifications and taxonomic changes in the holoparasitic Orobanchaceae

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Based on further extensive studies of specimens in various herbaria, lectotypes are designated for many taxa of holoparasitic Orobanchaceae. In particular, 47 names in the genera Boschniakia (incl. Xylanche), Cistanche, Orobanche, Phelipanche and Phelypaea are lectotypified.

Status and future of seed conservation of threatened plants in the post‐2020 era

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Ambitious targets have been set to backup seeds of threatened plants by the global strategy for plant conservation (GSPC), but it is unclear in how far these targets have been met and how seed collection should be organized to meet future challenges. Here, we provide an overview of the status of 44 countries in achieving seed conservation targets.

Growth of the dusky grouper Epinephelus marginatus (Linnnaeus, 1758) (Teleostei, Serranidae), in the Natural Marine Reserve of Lavezzi Islands, Corsica, France

open access: yesScientia Marina, 1999
The growth of Epinephelus marginatus living in the Natural Marine Reserve of the Lavezzi Islands was studied using the von Bertalanffy model. The growth parameters of this model were: L?=135.9 cm, K=0.08, t0=-0.80 years.

On the genus "Asplenium" in the Iberian Peninsula" [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
The Asplenium species recorded from the Iberian peninsula comprise diploids and tetraploids, and of the latter, both auto- and allotetraploids occur. Evidence from the meiotic pairing behaviour of the chromosomes in synthetic hybrids is adduced to show ...

A synthetic eco‐evolutionary proposal for the conservation of wild relatives of the olive tree

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Societal Impact Statement Crop wild relatives (CWR) are valuable sources of genetic diversity for plant breeding. However, the identification of wild untapped genetic resources (i.e., unexploited in crops) is not always straightforward. We propose a methodology to guide the identification and conservation of these resources that integrates both genetic

Looking backward to move forward: Enhancing metadata in scientific collections through interdisciplinary collaboration

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Early modern herbaria house important and useful data on historic environments. However, their contents are often inhospitable to scientific use. Despite this challenge, once their contents have been deciphered, such specimens present novel research opportunities.
