Superficial Ventral Premotor Pathways to Primary Motor Cortex Shape the Temporal Coordination of Precision Grasping

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 64, Issue 1, July 2026.
Goal‐directed reaching–grasping actions rely on PMv–M1 connectivity. Participants performed precision or power grips toward small or large objects before and after the PMv–M1 cc‐PASAP protocol. The PMv‐M1 plasticity induction produced selective changes in temporal joint‐angle synergies during precision grip, with no effect on spatial synergies ...

Impact of Voluntary Alcohol Consumption on Corticostriatal Plasticity in Rats

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 64, Issue 1, July 2026.
After 8 weeks voluntary alcohol consumption, AMPA/NMDA ratios were reduced in medium spiny neurons in the dorsolateral striatum, upon optogenetic stimulation of sensorimotor cortical inputs. Moreover, coefficient of variance was reduced and paired‐pulse facilitation was enhanced, selectively in high alcohol drinking rats.
