Molecular dynamics of the host response to Streptococcus pneumoniae pneumonia in baboons
Animal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.Using an established, clinically relevant nonhuman primate model of S. pneumoniae pneumonia, this study aims to identify novel potential molecular diagnostic and therapeutic targets using peripheral blood bulk transcriptomic, unbiased proteomic, and cytokine measurements. The constructed models were highly accurate in classifying bacterial pneumonia in Bryan D. Kraft, Ashlee M. Valente, Ephraim L. Tsalik, Micah T. McClain, Marshall Nichols, Thomas W. Animal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.Brefeldin A (BFA) significantly inhibits oocyte release and induces apoptosis in ovarian granulosa cells by disrupting follicular development. It downregulates proliferation‐associated genes, reduces SIRT1/SIRT6 proteins, and upregulates cell cycle inhibitors P21 and P16. Additionally, BFA impairs estrogen synthesis and affects ovarian function through Yao Jiang, Meng Lv, Haidan Fan, Yonghua Shi, Tao Wang, Penghao Wang, Xiaolong Yuan, Fei Gao, Bin Ma +8 morewiley +1 more sourcePeptide/Antibody–Drug Conjugates for Therapeutic Applications in Inflammatory Disease
Advanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.Peptide/antibody–drug conjugates (PADCs) combine ligand specificity and cleavable linkers to deliver drugs precisely to disease sites with minimal toxicity. While current approvals focus on oncology, this review examines their untapped potential in inflammatory diseases, detailing mechanisms of targeted delivery and highlighting advances that position ...Yeongji Jang, Jiwoong Choi, Youngri Ryu, Hyun Kyu Song, Man Kyu Shim, Yoosoo Yang +5 morewiley +1 more sourceAssociations Between Changes in Pain Sensitization and Disease Activity Following Disease‐Modifying Antirheumatic Drug Therapy in Established Rheumatoid Arthritis
Arthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.Objective
Abnormalities in pain regulatory mechanisms are common in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We investigated whether pain sensitization changes after treatment with a disease‐modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) and explored associations between changes in pain sensitization and disease activity.Burcu Aydemir, Andrew C. Arthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView. Objective
Vacuoles E1 enzyme X‐linked autoinflammatory somatic syndrome (VEXAS) is a recently identified rare genetic disorder associated with somatic mutations in the UBA1 gene. VEXAS presents with a combination of inflammatory and hematologic manifestations, leading to increased morbidity and mortality.Arsene Mekinian, Sophie Georgin‐Lavialle, Marcela A. Arthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article. Objective
Cytokine storm syndrome (CSS), commonly associated with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), is a fatal hyperinflammatory syndrome. Differentiating the underlying diseases responsible for CSS is essential for timely therapeutic decisions. This study explored the clinical usefulness of serum cytokine profiling in distinguishing underlying Shuya Kaneko, Maho Hatano, Asami Shimbo, Futaba Miyaoka, Hitoshi Irabu, Yuko Akutsu, Yuko Hayashi, Mao Mizuta, Yasuo Nakagishi, Keiji Akamine, Naomi Iwata, Kenji Furuno, Takayuki Tanaka, Kazuyuki Ueno, Shuhei Fujita, Koji Yokoyama, Toshinori Minato, Kazushi Izawa, Takahiro Yasumi, Tadashi Matsubayashi, Tadashi Hosoya, Hiroki Nishikawa, Junya Fujimura, Ryoko Asano, Yuko Sugita, Kenichi Watanabe, Anna Kobayashi, Takuya Endo, Katsuhide Eguchi, Ryuta Nishikomori, Ryuhei Yasuoka, Takaki Asano, Miyako Kanno, Kazuya Hamada, Yuji Fujita, Daisuke Hayashi, Shojiro Watanabe, Takeshi Shiba, Shinsuke Yasuda, Masaaki Mori, Hirokazu Kanegane, Masatoshi Takagi, Masaki Shimizu +42 morewiley +1 more sourceSpermidine reproduces the anti‐inflammatory effects of intermittent fasting and prevents urate and calcium pyrophosphate crystal‐induced inflammation
Arthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.Background
Gout due to the formation of monosodium urate (MSU) crystals and calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) deposition disease are two major types of microcrystalline pathologies in adults. They are responsible for recurrent flares that rely on interleukin (IL)‐1β via activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome.Chinh Nghia Pham, Florence Castelli, Flora Finet, Charles Leroy, Céline Chollet, Twinu Wilson Chirayath, Subhalaxmi Moitra, Mylène Zarka, Agnès Ostertag, François Brial, Christèle Combes, Augustin Latourte, Thomas Bardin, François Fenaille, Pascal Richette, Hang Korng Ea +15 morewiley +1 more source
