Beyond Gut Modulation: A Critical Review of the Therapeutic Potential, Safety, and Clinical Prospects of Natural Polysaccharides for IBD

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
In this review, we critically summarized the application of natural polysaccharides (NPs) for the treatment of IBD. This approach combines, in a unique way (right), the basic structure–activity relationships of NPs from different origins (left) with their multipronged mode of action, which involves modulation of the gut microbiota and other ...

Ginseng polysaccharides prevent mastitis through Lactobacillus murinus‐derived deoxycholic acid and TGR5 signaling

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Prebiotic Ginseng polysaccharides (GP) alleviate mastitis through selective enrichment of gut L. murinus, which elevates its anti‐inflammatory metabolite deoxycholic acid (DCA). Circulating DCA engages mammary epithelial TGR5 receptors, triggering the cAMP–PKA pathway to suppress NF‐κB/NLRP3‐mediated inflammation.

The Binding of Pentadiyl‐α,ω‐Bis(Dimethyldodecylammonium), a Cationic Gemini 12‐5‐12 Surfactant to Conjugated Carboxylates as Organic Counterions

open access: yesJournal of Surfactants and Detergents, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The critical micelle concentration (CMC) values of the cationic gemini surfactant pentadiyl‐α,ω‐bis(dimethyldodecylammonium) bromide depend on the hydrophobicity of added conjugated organic carboxylate anions. Nine conjugated counterions, present as sodium salts of organic acids, were studied to expand the correlation to the counterion ...

Integrated Reaction Monitoring and In Situ Structural Elucidation of Reactive Intermediates With Time‐Resolved NOAH NMR Supersequences

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Chemistry, Volume 64, Issue 7, Page 621-628, July 2026.
TR‐NOAH‐NUS enables real‐time reaction monitoring and direct structural characterization of transient intermediates. Integration of NOAH supersequences with t0‐filling minimizes reaction monitoring deadtime and provides high temporal resolution for kinetic analysis.

Copolymer Synthesis of N‐Vinylacetamide and 2‐Methylene‐1,3‐Dioxepane Provides a New Degradable Polymer

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1306-1318, 15 March 2025.
ABSTRACT N‐vinylamides, especially noncyclic N‐vinylacetamide (NVA), have been used in various applications such as biomaterials, surfactants, and hydrogels. However, their potential to copolymerize with cyclic ketene acetal (CKA) to create degradable polymers is underexplored.

Development of new computational amino acid parameters for protein structure/function analysis within the resonant recognition model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The Resonant Recognition Model (RRM) is a physico-mathematical model developed for analysis of protein and DNA sequences. Biological function of proteins and their 3D structures are determined by the linear sequences of amino acids.

Stability studies of cynaropicrin–major sesquiterpene lactone of Cynara cardunculus leaves

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
This study investigated its stability under high temperature and pH, mimicking agronomic extremes and under soil context. Bioassays demonstrated that degradation products exhibited higher phytotoxic activity than cynaropicrin and deacylcynaropicrin. This is the first study about cynaropicrin's stability, characterizing degradation products, and their ...
