Real-time dynamic articulations in the 2-D waveguide mesh vocal tract model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Time domain articulatory vocal tract modeling in one-dimensional (1-D) is well established. Previous studies into two-dimensional (2-D) simulation of wave propagation in the vocal tract have shown it to present accurate static vowel synthesis.

Sampling by incomplete cosine expansion of the sinc function: application to the Voigt/complex error function

open access: yes, 2014
A new sampling methodology based on incomplete cosine expansion series is presented as an alternative to the traditional sinc function approach. Numerical integration shows that this methodology is efficient and practical.

Cosine functions revisited

open access: yesBanach Journal of Mathematical Analysis, 2011
The author gives an elementary proof of the small dimension lemma: If \(K\) is a closed, irreducible subgroup of \(SU(n)\), where \(n\in\mathbb{N}\), such that \(k+ k^{-1}\in\mathbb{C} I\) for all \(k\in K\), then \(n=1\), or \(n=2\) and \(K\subseteq SU(2)\).

Large anisotropy of spin-orbit interaction in a single InAs self-assembled quantum dot

open access: yes, 2009
Anisotropy of spin-orbit interaction (SOI) is studied for a single uncapped InAs self-assembled quantum dot (SAQD) holding just a few electrons. The SOI energy is evaluated from anti-crossing or SOI induced hybridization between the ground and excited ...

Derivatives of tangent function and tangent numbers

open access: yes, 2015
In the paper, by induction, the Fa\`a di Bruno formula, and some techniques in the theory of complex functions, the author finds explicit formulas for higher order derivatives of the tangent and cotangent functions as well as powers of the sine and ...

Efficacy of Intermittent Theta‐Burst Stimulation for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

On the Superstability Related with the Trigonometric Functional Equation

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2009
We will investigate the superstability of the (hyperbolic) trigonometric functional equation from the following functional equations: , , , , which can be considered the mixed functional equations of the sine function and cosine function, of the ...

Adaptive channel estimation for cognitive fully adaptive radar

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation, 2022
The paper addresses channel state information estimation for a cognitive radar system. The underlying radar signal model considered in this paper is based on a stochastic Green's function approach. In the radar model, the clutter returns can be expressed

Optical vortices with an infinite number of screw dislocations

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2021
In optical data transmission with using vortex laser beams, data can be encoded by the topological charge, which is theoretically unlimited. However, the topological charge of a single separate vortex (screw dislocation) is limited by possibilities of ...

Operator Cosine Functions and Boundary Value Problems

open access: yesDoklady Mathematics, 2019
For the first time, the theory of strongly continuous operator cosines of functions (COF) is applied to the study of the correct solvability of boundary value problems for second-order linear differential equations in Banach space (elliptic case). Usually in COF terms the correct solvability of the Cauchy problem (hyperbolic case) is formulated.
